Warner Bros., the studio releasing “The Dark Knight Rises,” is considering whether to cancel screenings across the country after a massacre took place at a midnight screening in Colorado that left 12 moviegoers dead in the early hours of Friday.

Executives at the Hollywood studio were gathered at the Burbank offices from the middle of the night, struggling with whether to alter roll-out plans for the second-biggest release in movie history.

An executive told TheWrap that Warner was watching the situation and still considering whether to take further measures beyond cancelling the Paris premiere, including cancelling screenings at theater chains.

The executive said they would be making decisions on Friday and throughout the weekend as they conferred within the studio, monitored news reports and spoke to theater chains.

First I'll remind you that we don't know what his mental condition has been determined to be, because it has been made by someone qualified to do so. (It ain't either of us)

However, I understand that psychopathy is thought to be genetic, but it doesn't preclude external influences on said nut. That's where you're going wrong here.

No actually we do. He killed a bunch of people in a spree/ mass killing style. That means there’s a problem with the meat of his brain. Probably sociopath, maybe psychopath, but it’s the meat that’s busted. And since it’s the meat that’s busted it indeed DOES preclude external influences. That’s where you’re going wrong here.

Oh, "the meat is busted." Well thank you, Dr. Discostu!

I've been a fan of your clinical practice for a long time and greatly appreciate your groundbreaking work and subsequent inspiring tomes in the field of abnormal psychology.

There’s nothing terribly difficult about this. Spree killers are sociopaths or psychopaths, every time. Both are problems with the brain itself on a physical or chemical level. This is all pretty well known stuff. Sorry you didn’t bother to find out what you were talking about first.

But, Dr. Discostu, that's false. Spree killers can include the depressed/angry, not necessarily with psychopathy. You're BSing with someone who knows better, but I'm amused by your presuming to know the breadth of my knowledge as I am your pretending to know the shooter's mental health status without having examined him, or reading a qualified assessment. You apparently have no idea how silly that is.

You still haven’t provided evidence that Saudi Arabia is an “ultra-violent society” whatever “ultra-violent” means! Perhaps you care to compare murder rates of Washington D.C. and the capital of Saudi Arabia, which I’m sure you know by heart. Your ignorance in these matters and silly unsupported assertions about places you know nothing about only serves to illustrate your ignorance in other matters like the influence of popular culture on the members of such culture. There is no discussions with children whose education consists of comic books and ridiculous infantile good vs bad costumed comic book movies.

No, no, no. If I can interject here- I think OP was referring to the latest release from the hot techno band, Toiletspoon:

Ultraviolet - Society

And for optimum effect the track should be set upon an endless loop. But with techno how do we really know the difference?

No actually they don’t.

Meanwhile you’ve still studiously ignored how your BS sounds just like the lefty’s BS after Loughner.
