Behold what a prominent politician's "CYA" instinct hath wrought:
Facing questions about why she and other top Congressional officials won’t release their tax returns, House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) downplayed her previous demands for presumptive GOP presidential nominee Mitt Romney to release his, calling the issue a distraction. As recently as Wednesday, Pelosi had strongly urged Romney to provide further disclosure of his tax returns. But today, while maintaining Romney should release more documents because of “custom” and “tradition,” Pelosi said the issue was trivial compared with economic issues. “We spent too much time on that. We should be talking about middle-income tax cuts,” Pelosi said after answering two questions about the issue.
Pelosi even started clawing at the annoyingly inquisitive media:
Pelosi also suggested that the media should face disclosure requirements. “Some people think the same standard should be held to the ownership of the news media in the country who are writing these stories about all of this. What do you think of that?” she asked.
Yeah, what do you think of that, reporters? Stop asking Nancy questions about her shameless hypocrisy! It seems the former Speaker is a little jittery over the report we highlighted earlier:
Nancy Pelosi was emphatic. Mitt Romney’s refusal to release more than two years of his personal tax returns, she said, makes him unfit to win confirmation as a member of the president’s Cabinet, let alone to hold the high office himself. Sen. Harry Reid went farther: Romney’s refusal to make public more of his tax records makes him unfit to be a dogcatcher. They do not, however, think that standard of transparency should apply to them. The two Democratic leaders of the Senate and the House of Representatives are among hundreds of senators and representatives from both parties who refused to release their tax records.
Coming soon, a new GOP talking point on Romney's taxes: "Even Nancy Pelosi -- who declines to release her own tax returns -- calls this whole issue a distraction."
Pelosi is most likely THE most corrupt politician in Washington, and that takes in a lot of territory.
Well: she learned at her Daddy’s knee.
“On Second Thought, This Whole Tax Returns Thing is a Distraction”

Everything in that woman’s mind is a distraction.
I think she has the IQ of a slug.
She is a distraction. Someone must have asked why not her tax return too. Not moi I am sure she thought. So it becomes a distraction now. Metaphorically, she is like a roach who senses your approach with a shoe in your hand, they scurry away.
Oh, Voodoo man was in Jacksonville Fl yesterday. I was observing the FAA flight reporter and noticed every plane was diverted from the airspace out to about 150 miles. One poor group was doing loops in the Atlantic while his Majesty was awaiting a storm to clear from the runway so AF I Won, could land. POed me to no end not to mention the closed roads for the cavalcade going and coming. Disqusting and this guy does it every day. To me, when he is traveling on political business, he should travel like everyone else. I guess the King is supreme.
As Speaker she was second in line to be POTUS.
That gives me chills.
“I think she has the IQ of a slug”
We slugs object to that! We’re MUCH smarter!
“I guess the King is supreme.”

God save America from this scourge.
Nope, disagree. Slugs are way smarter.
I wish we could shake some salt on Pelosi and watch her shrivel up -
Considering all the paper that Obama has hidden away, buried, destroyed or otherwise deleted, the Demoncraps should have realized from the start that this was a non-starter of an issue because all it really did was draw attention to Obama.
Now the cartoonists and pundits have the bit between their teeth and Bambi is freaking, so he’s put out the word telling everyone the STFU about the tax returns.
You suppose some of those SF Mafia connections and graft might just show up on those returns Nan?
Pray for America
This makes me have to tell my Nancy Pelosi story, which I bring out from time to time.
My father was shop steward for Carpenter’s Union 101 in Baltimore city. As such he was part of the Democratic corruption in Baltimore. On election nights we’d all go to the precinct as demanded by Pelosi’s father, Mayor D’Alesandro, a third world corrupt Mayor if ever there was one.
The electrician’s union would come in and send some kind of a zap through the bank of voting machines, thereby changing the votes to whatever D’Alesandro wanted. I don’t know how that worked. In that day the voting machines had little handle thingies and somehow they could be greatly tampered with.
My father, as a big union bigwig, got a job remodeling the Pelosi house in Baltimore’s Little Italy.
Me and my brother would often go along to help as was our wont in those days when people actually worked, even kids.
Nancy went to a Catholic school. She’s a few years older than me. She was a teenager at the time. She’d come in, slam the door, throw her stuff down and begin shouting for her mother. Her mother would tell her to pick up her books and she’d throw a nasty hissy fit. I’d watch her with childish eyes and wonder why on earth someone didn’t smack her silly. My mother or father would have smacked clear across town I behaved like that.
She’d tell her mother she was going out that night and her mother would tell her no. Then she’d find her father and would rub up against him and whine that she just HAD to go wherever it was she wanted to go. He’s hug her and give her money and let her have her way.
She looks EXACTLY like her father. Every time I see her face, even today, I feel like I’m looking directly into the eyes of Mayor D’Alesandro.
Her brother was also very active in Baltimore politics....corrupt as a third world dictator, every one of them.
LOL, did San Fran Nan finally figure out that her rock might shatter her own glass house?
Sometimes it’s fun to watch the Keystone Komrades in action. Not often, though.
That bit*h has never had a rational First Thought, never name a Second Thought.
