Simply put, people are not shopping at J.C. Penney. AFA and OneMillionMoms are showing success in the effort to educate people to Penney's aggressive national campaign to promote "gay" marriage.
The company is going downhill fast. Since February, the company stock has lost more than half its value, and Standard & Poor's Ratings Services lowered its credit rating on J.C. Penney Co. further into "junk" status.

First-year CEO Ron Johnson's decisions have led to disastrous results for the company. Rather than build on the faith-based traditions of founder James Cash Penney, Johnson has abandoned family values and taken the company into a financial tailspin by embracing social activism.
Families are the backbone of Penney's existence. As long as it pushes homosexual marriage, families will go elsewhere.
TAKE ACTION
Make a personal phone call to J.C. Penney's customer service department. Urge them to return to family values and stop pushing the gay marriage agenda.
Their numbers are 972-431-8200 (customer service) and 972-431-1000 (corporate headquarters).
Because JCP blocks emails from our server, you can also write a personal email to J.C. Penney at this email address: jcpcorpcomm@jcpenney.com.
Homophobia - HA! A made up word to dis anyone who doesnt agree with that specific form of deviant behavior. I am also prejudice and a bigot, so watch out.
I dont care that homosexuals wear the same cloths as I do, but I will not spend my money somewhere that openly advertises to them.
Why anyone has to define their entire existence by the gender they have sex with is beyond me, and making it a point to shove it in my face is only inciting my “homophobia”.
Why are sodomites so hetrophobic?
I agree with you 100%. Their gay advertising certainly piled on to their foolish marketing strategy.
But I am a homophobe!?!
Yeah, OK.
Let's make up a word for people who love, cherish, and adore their beloved relatives who, right from the beginning, before the age of 3, were different. My sweet girl had absolutely NO input into her sexual orientation. I saw it all unfold. No one can tell me she would have been any different under any other circumstances. She had every bit of love and affection any child could want. Which means, to me, that her path was given by God. I go to church every Sunday, I am old, and will not change my mind. Don't try.
Screw them all. I’ll never buy a single product from JC Penny again. Just one more stupid PC company on my list. Hope they go out of business - too bad for their employees.
To lose 18% of your sales (or whatever the number is), you really only need to lose a small percentage of your customers, if they are good customers.
For any business to go out of its way to antagonize the American conservative base, regularly polled to be about 40% of the population, is to go out of its way to hurt its business. A retail outlet....that’s even doubly insane. A retail outlet that likes to promote itself as a family store...then it’s exponentially insane.
Sorry, enquiring, but gays are made that way and not born that way. People are taught what are acceptable sexual outlets and they simply respond to the biological urge for sexual release by and large using approved methods of release.
If the media and culture condition people to accept *Release Method A*, then people are going to start using release method A.
Somebody didnt do their math... if 2% of americans are gay... they are in a higher income bracket, however how many would actually shop at jc pennys? So what amount of market share did they think they could capture? How can that compare with a customer base with traditional moral values? Make no sense whatsoever from just a business point of view.
(Surely, a few, helpful hands/I> will be left standing; no? This MO would not 'invite' me; by any stretch; to come and shop with JCP. . .)
I LIKE IT!!!
Screw Penny’s. I won’t waste my time to send them a message. Let them die. Then let all the displaced employees wonder why.
However, feel free to send them a "nasty gram", as I have.
Yup, I remember them - comfortably smooth with a large collar and a breast pocket that was the thing back when. Geeze, how old are we? Remember Pendleton shirts? Or madres (sp) shirts? Interestingly, my childhood plaid patterned shirts are now back in style, with shortish sleeves and all. Personally, if I can still find Charlie Sheen "bowling shirts", I still buy them. But then I have no style sense.
Yup, that's why the whole thing pisses me off. I don't care what a person does behind closed doors. But why they must push their sexuality on others is what irks me. Why would they define their lives by what part of body they want? Tells me - low self-esteem.
I'm starting to think that us heterosexuals should start celebrating our sexual preferences and push back (no pun intended).
Here's some slogans.
After the last one, I couldn't think of anything better. Think I'm going to copyright that, but you can use it if you want. I'm going to Cafepress to see if they will accept my slogan and logo I design.
“Jumping on the queer bandwagon certainly hurt them, but I think their change in merchandising and marketing did more than anything to hurt their business.”
I agree. I used to shop there regularly, but it became very difficult to find anything I want at a price I’m willing to pay. I haven’t closed my JCP card acount, but that’s just because I haven’t gotten to it yet.
Keep marketing to 1% of the population because they whine a lot.
Same here man.
My "wardrobe" has been "in" and "out" of style so many times I just never throw anything away.
(I did get rid of anything 'polyester' round about 1980 though. Fire hazard...well...a melting hazard more like it...lol)
Good.
Thanks for telling me about General Mills selling out to the homosexual agenda! I had some of their products on my shopping list for tonight...NO MORE!!
Also, I posted a complaint on their webform:

What about store brands? :-)
the new penny ad running soon...
JC Penny. the JC stands for Jesus Christ. Really. Come on. Buy a Shirt.
As soon as you walked in, you would be hit by the fragrance of chintzy starchy stuff and cheap perfume.
There was no attempt at merchandising back then. Bras, girdles, nighties, undies were just hung out there limply, or heaped in a pile.
I actually feel a little nostalgia for those days. The presentation was more honest, in its own humble way.
