New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie will deliver the keynote address at next month's Republican National Convention in Tampa, FL.
NBC News' Jamie Gangel reported Wednesday that Christie would be afforded the plum speaking slot at the convention, a gig that sometimes serves as a launching pad for political figures with ambitions of higher office. The selection of Christie, though, would seem to suggest that Christie is not likely the choice by Mitt Romney to serve as the GOP's vice presidential nominee.
Typically, the keynote speaker is separate from the vice presidential nominee, who, like the presidential nominee, speaks on separate nights.
Republicans have not yet released a detailed itinerary of the speaking schedule for their convention.

*Facepalm*
Having the words “tapped” and “Chris Christie” in the same sentence gives me pause.............
I know that Christie is excellent with a quip or comeback.
But, I’ve never heard he is a dynamic speaker.
Anyone know?
(As much as my politics is far, far to the right of Rudy Giuliani, Giuliani is an outstanding, dynamic speaker.
IIRC, Christie is ...
Pro-Gay
Pro-Moslem
Pro-Abortion
The only thing he’s got going for him is fiscal conservatism.
Meh...I’d much prefer Sarah!!
Quoting Han Solo: I have a bad feeling about this.
Vanilla-fest
[yawn]
Sarah! Sarah! Sarah!
Christie is a GOP governor in a major state. His primary accomplishment is to apply conservative principles to reduce government (and unions), reduce government spending to improve the economy.
Don’t know how well he will do as a speech-giver, but the choice is certainly on-message.
Hey, it removes him from the VP lottery! And he can probably deliver harder blows to Obama than any other RINO keynote option out there.
I’m from New Jersey.
He’s not my favorite state resident.
I expect to be bored by his speech.
Both him and Romney are not transformational Republicans.
They are not about dismantling the big governments the Liberals have built. They believe they need do no more than use it better. Call it “pragmatic incrementalism”, but don’t call it Conservatism.
Haters will hate. Yes his social stances aren’t as conservative as many of us would like.. But the man can, has and will take it to the terrorists that make up the democrat party today. Just watch. He doesn’t hold back any punches.. Period.
On abortion.. I had to look it up, but what I found says:
“I am pro-life, I believe in exceptions for rape, incest and the life of the mother. That’s my position, take it or leave it.”

So would I, but I'm for Sarah being the GOP nominee; and Sarah just might end up being in that slot.
Meaning that Sarah might be turning down offers to speak.
Palin would be better
Not Arnold Schwarzennager or Charlie Crist? LOL
Pro-Moslem
Pro-Abortion
And...Pro Christie!
How?
Christie overload...
