The word is going out quietly to Republican activists across New Jersey: If youre going to the GOP convention in Tampa next month, be sure to be there by Tuesday night, Aug. 28, because Gov. Chris Christie is going to be giving the keynote speech that night.
Weve been told thats the night to be there, thats when the governor is going to speak. Theyre saying hes the keynoter, one top party activist told The Post yesterday.

So, another RINO will give a speech to all the other RINOS. Good Golly! I'm impressed!
¿Donde esta Palin? Bet that'd bring down the house with incredible standing applause, but no . . . we'll get Christie!

Well, Christie could be bombastic, and this gives him the national stage cred for his next move .....

The party has decided conservatives aren’t wanted. Fine by me. Let the liberals in the party have their slobberfest. This conservative doesn’t care anymore.

....And why are we not raising a stink over this? Sarah went to the mat for us in 2010, what are we doing for her now? Tea Parties should be demonstrating outside RNC headquarters around the country.

One of my vendors took me to lunch last week. Solid conservative guy, lives over by the NJ line. The son of a family friend had the book thrown at him by moving back to NJ (his ex lived there and he missed the kids) and getting caught with a perfectly legal firearm he had puchased in Colorado.
He was languishing in a NJ correctional institute over a bs charge stemming from having the firearm in his vehicle. Christie pardoned the young man as soon as he took office, then convinced the judge in the case to take early retirement before he got forcibly retired. The judge had so much crap on him that there was at least a decent chance the Democrat legislature would've gone along. So he gladly accepted Christie's early exit offer.
My opinion of Christie went up when I heard that story.

many Freepers will whine and moan about this but the fact is 1) Christie’s speech at the Reagan library was SECOND to none from anything we’ve heard from the GOP in a long while 2) people will whine he’s a RINO yet too bad more GOPers don’t speak their mind about obama as does Christie...
terrific choice for a national stage....

The good news is that it’s very unlikely that he’d be the VP nominee if he’s the keynoter. JMHO, as there is certainly no written rule barring it.

Maybe not Rubio because he will be the Vice-Presidential nominee?

Shades of Schwarzenegger. He’ll give a fine speech and then go back to governing like he never heard a word of it.
To: WVNan
I came to the conclusion at the TX GOP Convention that the current RNC leadership is totally in RINO control.
Either we oust them, or there will be an effective 3rd party (not before November). The game they play leads to destruction of the nation. It is about maintaining power in DC. Nothing more.
