Brit Hume On Obama's View Of Business: "Explains Nearly Everything"
RCP Video ^ | 7-16-2012 | Brit Hume

Posted on 07/17/2012 5:44:36 AM PDT by Sir Napsalot

BRIT HUME: It is fair to say that we know more tonight than we ever have about the president's view of business and the economy. His assertion over the weekend that, 'If you got a business, you didn't build that. Somebody else made that happen' explains nearly everything. He wasn't talking about God, he was talking about government.

Here is a man that believes not just that the government provided framework of roads, bridges, defense and law enforcement helps the private sector. He believes these things are are the nerve center, the driving force. More important than any individual, talent, enterprise or initiative. As he put it: 'There are a lot of smart people out.' As for diligence: 'There are a whole bunch of hardworking people out there.' Success? 'You didn't get there on your own.'

This is a view that successful businessmen, women are merely the ones who did better at taking advantage of the benefits that government has bestowed. Therefore, he thinks they should be glad to pay an even greater share of federal taxes than they do. He (Obama) calls that, 'giving back,' as if the government conferred all that they have and they shouldn't mind returning a bit more of it where it came from.

This explains why so much stimulus money was spent to protect government and why his legislation on healthcare and financial reform involved extending the reach and power of, you guessed it, government.

Be prepared to find sites like FR go dark if he is reelected. ((((shudder)))))

Actually the Cass Sunstein plan for sites like FR is to force them to import a bunch of liberal content to provide "balance".

Cisco systems built a 5,000 job campus style complex in Maynard MA. They needed their own off ramp to I-495 so they paid for it. A fairy tale called Telecom City was proposed in my city at the same time. Promising the same amount of jobs. The public spent $220 Million on it. We got a nice short cut to the Revere Beach Parkway. No jobs.

"The Right is overreacting to this and missing a key point:"

Wrong! The right is undereacting. And yes, we listened to every word the communist said. He along with his other memes, has declared war on America. He has initiated class warfare as was taught to us in 60's/70's.

Its pure Marxism. Every breath of it.

Yes one pays for services of others and all that But WHO took the risks?

Decisions have consequences! Risk vs Reward!

What we have here once again is mass failure of common sense!

My observation? While it is true that every business success in the US happens in the context of the business infrastructure that exists in the US, it’s also true that those businesses pay as they go for the continued upkeep of that infrastructure. They pay by way of taxes, and not a little bit.

If everything were left to government, we’d all be driving Trabants and Yugos on dirt roads, living in gray high-rises that periodically fall down due to faulty steel and concrete, eating gruel, using people to do the work of machines, and not be able to travel to the next town without papers. I lived seven months in communist China almost 40 years ago and know it first-hand.

Government builds it off of tax money taken from successful individuals. Therefore the successful individuals built the infrastructure. Government can do nothing on it’s own

Nope. FR will just be shut down. They have Huff Post and don’t need this site. FR will be gone if Obama gets reelected.

I agree with everything posted here and other places about Obie's Socialist/Communist proclivities.

Considering that on top of all, that is a white hating race baiter. "You" is also a euphemism for "whitey" and Obama is suggesting that successful people get where they are by virtue of their skin color. (never mind that good ideas and hard work are color blind).

Some FR posters sure seem to be employed by the Reelect Obama campaign, eh? They don’t understand the gravity of the situation. I contend that there will cease to be a FR if Obama gets reelected. Where will all those annoying graphics be posted, then?

Thanks Mom MD

1) if gov’t builds it, why do so many business fail?
2) gov’t doesn’t build it, gov’t takes bids, puts regulations in the way, and doesn’t pay in a timely manner.
3) Government builds it off of tax money taken from successful individuals. Therefore the successful individuals built the infrastructure. Government can do nothing on it’s own

Hey numb nuts, I know Hume's style in moderating news commentary. I never expected your tiny mind to understand the concept of devil's advocacy.

You have been and remain the biggest idiot on FR. Do us all a favor and take your worthless comments elsewhere.

I’ll use my house as an analogy to obamas ridiculous comments about “roads, bridges” and other government infrastructure.

If my house is my “business”, my driveway provides me easier, and convenient access to my “business”.

If I had not built my house, my driveway would be a “driveway to nowhere”.

My “business still pays property taxes, ad velorm taxes, etc. I still pay me utilities which helps provide salaries for government employees. I still shop for other goods and services, which keeps the stock boy at the grocery store employed, and the cashier at the place where I buy my gasoline (with all of the fuel taxes) still has a job. Even the guy who paved my driveway pays taxes.

Maintenance on my “business” keeps electricians, plumbers, landscapers, and the pest control guys working, all of whom pay income taxes, too.

My “driveway” only provides a pathway to my “business”, but without the access, the government would be losing a lot of money, fom many different sources.

There was small businesses even before the government was responsible for roads and bridges. Trade was carried on via cow paths and riverboats since America was founded, and beyond.Without businesses to provide goods, services, and JOBS, there could be no government.

Obama is the most galactically, stupid person that ever entered the United States, bar none. The scary part is, his zombies buy into it.

What we have now is a “presidency to nowhere”,

It’s not ignorance. It’s not possible that he does not know. He does not like the law of causality so he chooses to willfully ignore it and that is what makes him evil.

Good insight.
Conservatives realize that most government is like a parasite; or sand in the gears of a machine.

Very different views.
