PAWLENTY GETS A SECOND LOOK: Mitt Romney has already made his decision on who hell pick as his running mate, an announcement which could come this week, according to a New York Times report, and former Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty, who shares a close relationship with the Romney family and has become an energetic cheerleader for the GOP nominee, sits at the top of the list four years after he was passed over for the number two spot by John McCain. After a short-lived presidential bid of his own last year, Mr. Pawlenty is again being considered for the Republican ticket. His fate is in the hands of Mr. Romney, a rival-turned-friend, who is on the cusp of announcing his vice-presidential selection. Mr. Romney has reached a decision, his friends believe, and he may disclose it as soon as this week, the

NBC doesn’t matter, because it will never be heard in court.
1) The supreme court just did a pretzel twist to uphold ObamaCare. Do you think they will “unelect” a sitting VP? Never.
2) 98% of Americans believe natural born citizen means someone born a citizen. Neither the press or anyone else with a megaphone will do anything to change that opinion.
3) The courts refuse to even consider arguments about Obama’s NBC status.
Bottom line: the issue is moot. There is a new standard (thanks to Obama’s election): Born a citizen = natural born citizen.
We can scream and shout about it being wrong, but not a single court in the land—not one—would take up the case of Jindal not being a NBC; it would be thrown out before even getting a hearing.
The only chance to change this would be to get congress to pass a resolution defining NBC (something they could do, but won’t do anytime soon).
You’ve got to live in the world as it is. Jindal’s (or Rubino’s) NBC status would never be a problem, because no court would ever hear the case, much less find against them.
The issue is moot.
It won’t be West. 100% certain.
Conservatives would love West, BUT he would be lightning rod for the press and liberals in the same way Palin was. The press would build up a series of fabricated/semi-true stories about West that would (as they did with Palin) become a story on their own and distract from the core issues of the campaign (jobs, jobs, jobs).
Romney will NOT pick someone that overshadows him or becomes a press story of his own. It won’t be West.
Please choose a real conservative.
The overriding theme of the Romney campaign is “competent” as in “Romney is competent to fix the economy, and Obama isn’t.”
It’s likely Romney will pick a governor who has done a good job at the state level to reinforce the “competent” theme. This sets up a contrast between the GOP ticket and the Obama/Biden ticket which can be portrayed as incompetent.
Pawlenty fits that meme. He may be boring, but nobody doubts he has done a good job as governor.
The courts refuse to even consider arguments about Obamas NBC status.
That should have been a forewarner on the Health Care Ruling.
i.e. If congress lets it happen, we will not intervene.....
I've been predicting Thune to get a serious look.
I still hold out hope for Susana Martinez.
It’s not moot because it’s a campaign issue, whether right or wrong.
Looks like the Condi Rice trial balloon crashed. [Thank goodness]I agree.
ABC
Anybody But Condi
She's the loser's loser.
Romney-Pawlenty...
My dryer makes a sound like that when there are sneakers in it.
So do I. I tweeted Romney to pick her.
And think of the graphics. Mitt, Paw.
A campaign issue for who?
Out of 300 million Americans, it would be a campaign issue for about 2,327—max.
And, if you don’t agree with that number, then how many. Not “a lot,” but a specific number.
Pawlenty? Wow, that’s a ticket just popping with excitement.
There is no question at all concerning Herman Cain and this imagined virtue of “natural born”. That meant something back in 1787, maybe, but not so much today.
Surprised, that he has not been heard in the mix.
All that supposed involvement back in Chicago was totally manufactured. Think David Axelrod, and look at the fingerprints connected with that attempted smear.
"Competent," considering the prior qualifications and record of the current occupant, would be anyone who could run a small business successfully enough to retain emplyees. (Sarc.)
