That sound you hear is silenceas millions of small business owners and entrepreneurs were left speechless this weekend from President Obamas latest insult.
The slap in the face to hard-working Americans conveyed Obamas belief that it takes a villagea heavily subsidized villageto create that venture youre profiting from:
Somebody helped to create this unbelievable American system that we have that allowed you to thrive. Somebody invested in roads and bridges. If youve got a businessyou didnt build that. Somebody else made that happen.
Obama pushed his policy goals of infrastructure (aka stimulus) spending and government research as part of a collectivist utopia doing things together. Its simply stunning that he would tell Americans, If youve got a businessyou didnt build that.
After all, could individuals be resourceful and hard-working enough to create whole new enterprises? Obama said:
Look, if youve been successful, you didnt get there on your own. You didnt get there on your own. Im always struck by people who think, well, it must be because I was just so smart.
It is this view of successful businessesessentially, You owe usthat drives Obamas continued attacks on the countrys job creators in the form of tax hikes and regulations.
Its a tough time to be a business owner and entrepreneur in America. Surveys show small business owners are struggling, and they are not expanding or hiring because of tax and regulatory uncertainty. Federal agencies, from Health and Human Services to the Environmental Protection Agency, are regulating them to death. And just last week, President Obama announced his latest economic plan was to hit job creators with a tax increase.
The Presidents plan to raise taxes on earnings above $200,000 ($250,000 for joint filers) would hit 1.2 million small-business employers who pay their taxes through the individual income tax, known as flow-through businesses. These businesses that are creating jobs earn almost all91 percentof the income earned by flow-through employer-businesses.
The new tax increase could be equivalent to one employee per small business. According to calculations by The Heritage Foundations Center for Data Analysis, the average American with $250,000 or more in income can expect an average $24,888 tax increase next year under Obamas proposed policies. That $24,888 figure is often enough for a salary. So the President could be putting about 1.2 million jobsperhaps even moreat risk with this tax hike.
Hitting private job creators while advocating more stimulus spending and government jobs. Thats the Presidents plan for the economy.
Meanwhile, businesses large and small suffer from the highest corporate tax rate in the developed world. This has long made the U.S. an uncompetitive place for new investment and has driven new jobs to other, more competitive nations, meaning fewer jobs and lower wages for all Americans.
If the U.S. is to see economic recovery, we must encourage entrepreneurship. Stopping the biggest tax increase in American history, Taxmageddon, would be a good place to start. Its a $494 billion tax hike set to hit on January 1, when a number of tax policies expire and just a few of Obamacares new taxes kick in. Businesses are already hesitating on hiring decisions because of the impending effects of these taxes.
Democratic leaders are demanding tax hikes, however, and threatening to allow Taxmageddon for the sake of politicsdespite warnings that it would send the U.S. back into recession.
Real recovery will take even more than saving job creators from punishing taxes and regulations. It requires leadership that appreciates and values the long hours that Americas business builders put in and the personal sacrifices they make for their dreams. It will take leaders who say, If youve got a businessyou built that. And we want more of that in America.
He learned it when his mentor-daddy Frank Marshall Davis was on his knees in front of Barry
Funny, I don't remember anybody else working 60 hours a week, 52 weeks a year just to "stay even". It's exhausting in every sense of the word. I don't need lectures from a President who spends his weekends on the golf course while his wife & kIds travel the world on the taxpayers' dime.
If you remember how Hawaii refused to certify Obama’s eligibility and Pelosi nearly had a fit so she took it upon herself to sign documents to confirm him (without verification), Obama’s whole Presidency may have been a coup.
Listen to President Frank Marshall Davis spout out his Marxist communist doctrine but, don’t call him a communist/sarcasm.
I will not enable a Marxist communist to have four more years to finish destroying our country and constitution from WITHIN.
Every time he opens his unscripted mouth he proves beyond a shadow of a doubt that “The Bell Curve” was right. About the only thing “The Bell Curve” may have missed was the magnitude of the difference. It is much greater than reported.
I am beginning to think that we are watching Axlerod’s version of ‘Shock and Awe’. They know that 43% of the electorate will vote for the Dear Leader regardless. Forget the so-called ‘independents’ who ostensibly recoil at negative campaigning...they are gambling they can grab enough low information voters to put them over the line. Since these voters are not paying attention Obama can do or say practically anything. This freedom enables the regime to launch a barrage of initiatives, statements and accusations at Romney to overwhelm his campaign’s ability to respond effectively. Every day it is something new; the thesis that entrepreneurs can do nothing on their own, the gutting of welfare to work, the ‘felon’ thing. All this in just a week and I have probably left out a few. Any thoughts?
The government never built anything without small business tax dollars collected by some means.
Indeed, I don’t believe he was ever eligible, but that’s been effectively covered up.
However, I don’t see how he can cover up losing an election and refusing to leave office. It will be pretty obvious to even the most casual observer.
It’s not only the greed but the power they gain by being able to control entrepreneurs through their taxation and bureaucratic meddling. They think that proves them to be superior to the businessman who “labors”, while they play in politics.
It’s not just covetousness, it’s slavery.
Entrepreneurs risk all to win (which benefits their employees share)... or they lose all (which losses employees do NOT share in).
Whatever hurts or impedes entrepreneurs hurts and impedes the economy (read: employees).
It ain't rocket science!!
My God, he sounds like Elisabeth Warren. What the hell is wrong with his teleprompter? He was supposed to keep this truth a scret until “after” he is reelected.
Street hustling is the only way Obama knows to make money, or steal it from those businesses he so loves to condemn.
The infrastructure that he tries to take credit for was built with the taxes from thousands of small businesses and the taxpayers to whom they provide jobs.
No damn wonder he’s screwed up the economy so badly, he hasn’t a clue as to how it works.
He’s lived his life with unfettered access to government (our) money, so just like his gang of idiot supporters he thinks government is some endless ATM and he has the debit card.
Seems politicians are afraid of the backlash if they cut the freebies, but the blind fools don’t see the “front lash” of the demise of Democracy by letting it continue.
Right is right, tough decisions have to be made, regardless of the consequences. Sitting on your thumb and singing “Kumbaya” is not going to save America.
Will America melt into a distant memory because the people of the “land of the brave” are chicken-hearted?
America needs “open heart surgery”, sure, it’ll hurt for a little while, but she will be a whole lot better when she heals. Or maybe the complacency of her people will condemn her to a “death panel”.
It was pretty obvious that Congress was not in recess when he said they were too.
Anyways, I don't mean he'll try to hide his defeat. That would be impossible.
He'll just simply refuse to step aside. Perhaps blame the Republicans for his defeat. Accuse the winner of being a "felon", claim that illegal tactics were used during the campaign or simply say he's staying because "It's the right thing to do. Too many Americans still suffer as a result of the previous administration. We just simply cannot afford to return to the Bush era"
Think about it. If Obama were to step down on Jan 20th 2013 (if he loses) it would be the first legal move he had made since becoming President almost 4 years ago.
Problem is, this rings true to a very important (at least in their own minds...) group: CEOs and Board Members of established corporations.
They DIDN’T build the business and they know it. The just inherited from someone else, who might have inherited from the folks who did build the business. Obama’s declaration a potentially successful guilt trip on these folks.
Okay, Pres O, everyone has the same infrastructure, so why doesn’t everyone have their own business.? Hmmm?
Absolutely!
Most people are thinking about the 2012 elections...Obama is thinking about the Revolution.
He has no plans to step down.
What in the He## is he talking about.. I am a poster boy of the Entrepreneurial experience..
I wouldn’t have had to have any other reasons for caution, about expansion of my plant, production, equipment or labor force than what this jerk had already done in the past 3+ years, and what he still says are his priorities..
My company, primarily was the hospitality industry, restaurants and hotels, always provided limited healthcare, in our benefit package.. That was a decision based on competitive advantage for a higher qualification of our employee, experience and leadership needs..
I wasn’t born with any hereditary, or financial advantages, except my American birthright, with our constitutional right of the Pursuit of Happiness, and other enumerating freedoms..
If I had the defeatist, liberal mindset, I wouldn’t have even tried to better myself.. Pi$$ on Him and his loser concepts..
