Palin: Romney campaign 'can't hold back' and 'has to take the gloves off' against Obama
Fox News ^ | July 12, 2012 | Sarah Palin w Greta Van Susteren

Posted on 07/14/2012 11:15:10 AM PDT by Innovative

VAN SUSTEREN: What do you make of the food fight that's going on as - the recent - today, the deputy campaign manager of President Obama's campaign, Stephanie Cutter, accused Governor Romney of either being a liar or a felon. I don't know - I guess it's better to be a liar than a felon. Nonetheless, both are terrible. He's calling for an apology tonight.

PALIN: I'm glad that he is forcefully calling for an apology. But Mitt Romney and his campaign people perhaps don't even know what's coming, what will be hitting him. This is just the tip of the iceberg.

President Obama and the people whom he is surrounded with and in that campaign, they're going to be brutal. And they will - they'll throw these false accusations and they'll try to ring a bell that you can't unring again in the public's perception about who Mitt Romney is, what his record is.

He needs to be prepared, and the campaign can't hold back in defense of Romney's record and what it is that he actually believes and stands for. So I'm glad that, in a case like this, he's demanding an apology. He's got to take the gloves off, the Romney campaign has got to, in order to effect the change that is needed in this campaign and turn things around for the country. Can't hold back.

To quote Rush, “This election is not business as usual and any of you that tell yourself that it is... you are doing irreparable damage to our chances... because we need to be honest with ourselves about exactly where this election is". He said it last week.

You keep on with the wishful thinking... the result will be the exact same result as 2008. mitt's people certainly need some new arguments and talking points.

Well who the F do we want her to root for, Obama?

Some people have no common sense and would prefer Sarah root for a candidate that is 1) Not running 2)Has no chance of winning.

Oh brother.

Ok, whatever. I’m sure everyone is just riveted to their tvs watching election coverage, right?

90 degrees outside. People on vacation, and kids out of school, just like the summers of every election year.

Just because Rush is bored, doesn’t mean the whole nation changed their election interest habits.

Inflicting major damage? Where?

beyond political junkies spending all day on this, most Americans are not remotely interested at this point, that is why you got polls that have moved almost nowhere in weeks.

Bingo. Obama is spending more than he's raising, and getting what for it? He is flogging the "fairness" issue, and according to the polls it isn't selling. A lot of the people gnashing their teeth here are the ones who have been predicting a Mitt debacle from the get go, and just want to say they told us so.

Keeping powder dry. SOP for the GOP. McCain still had quite a bit of powder left after he lost to Zero. Turns out he was saving it to savage a conservative primary challenger. Now that’s keeping it dry!

Others have said it: The time for firing your weapons is when you are under attack. By “keeping his powder dry,” Romney is allowing Zero to freeze him and demonize him. As Palin says, that bell can’t be unrung.

If Romney is being clever by not answering attacks, he’s being too clever by half. And he will lose.

It sure seems like Sarah is rooting for Romney...

Is there any other viable choice?

No, they are living their lives and working if they have a job... working harder than they ever have and for less. Whenever people mingle... they talk about America today and what concerns them. If you do not know that... then you need to go out a find some real Americans to talk to. Just bring up any subject next time you are in a checkout line... and get ready to hear anger and fear.

the establishment will never take their gloves off against a democrat

Agreed. The GOP-e would sooner do another round of character assassination against Palin than expose Obama..............

I very much doubt she’s happy that he’s going to be our nominee, barring a miracle.

My point was that no matter what Romney does it’s going to be portrayed as wrong by the media.

That’s fundamentally the problem that no one wants to address.

Obama attacks with specious charges, you answer and get painted as thin skinned, or that there is something to those charges.

One can ignore the media at their peril. While they are now buying ink by the quart rather than the barrel, they still have numbers. There are hundreds of media outlets all supporting Obunghole.

Obama has been outed as a homosexual, and it gets ignored.

http://hillbuzz.org/why-wont-the-agenda-driven-media-report-on-barack-obama-being-gay-dating-actor-kal-penn-and-frequenting-chicago-bathhouse-mans-country-you-know-the-way-they-leaped-to-trash-herman-cain-with-u

I’d be willing to bet he’s still smoking cigarettes too, and nothing is said of it.

Imagine if Romney were to light up a Marlboro Red with a tumbler of single malt (mormonism not withstanding)?

Mitt’s advisors are intentionally sabotaging his campaign to clear the GOP deck for Jeb Bush in 2016. The fix is in.

Please share with us how you know this or if it is sheer speculation that, unfortunately, comes off as tin foil hat material.

That is my point as well. I say it's better to come off as a bit thin-skinned than allow the criminal in the White Hut to freeze your image as something bad. McCain threw the election by not spending the money he had, and actually endorsed Obama in October before the election! As an Arizonan, I found out why two years later: He used the money we gave him to fight Obama to fight off a conservative Primary challenger instead.

Mitt, you have the money. Dammit, spend some of it before Obama makes it impossible to "unring the bell."

I personally think Romney is a little puss but at this point ANYTHING and I mean ANYTHING is better than seeing America officially become Venezuala.

ROTFL!! Don't hold back; tell us what you REALLY think of Mitt!

Ok, Romney should blow 100 million in ads to answer crap that even the press isnt running with? Soooooo the people that are rattled (Rush and Co.) can “feel” better and not panic?

After you are done “firing your weapons”, then what? you have a 100 million hole in your funds, it’s September, and now you have to take matching funds. Congrats, general!

Obama wants Romney to SPEND. Spend millions going tit for tat. Deplete cash and change the subject.

Why not go along with that? It makes for better show, doesn’t it?

The fallacy you are jumping into bed with is called "False Dichotomy." This is not a binary choice, all or nothing. There are varying degrees of spending, you know. I'm not saying "spend everything you have." I'm saying "spend what you need to."

1) Don't be a dope.
2) Don't call me one, either.

Romney should SUE demanding Obama provide documentation proving his eligibility to be President, including his Birth Certificate.

In the past, the Courts have ruled that ordinary citizens who sued didn't have standing.

Well, who has more f**king STANDING in this issue than the opposition nominee?

All it will take is one valid court test to prove Obama is a fraud!

The point is that Romney doesnt need to, as the issue is a dud with no rabid press assist, in fact with several outlets actually calling O out on it. Also with no major interest from the public.

Obama gets to spend 100 million to make noise to promote a “controversy” that will evaporate. Romney keeps 100 million to use when it is more needed.

Makes for lousy talk radio chatter? Yep, but it makes more practical sense.
