New tone? David Axelrod spoke with National Journal’s Beth Reinhard in a phone interview, excerpts of which were posted a few minutes ago. In the interview, Axelrod decried the “politics of obstruction” — and then compared Republicans to Robespierre:
NJ President Obama has been vague about what he would accomplish in his second term.
AXELROD The president believes you build a strong, sustainable economy by building a strong, viable growing middle class. You have to continue to upgrade our educational system and improve access to higher education and technical training. We have to invest in research and development and the kinds of things that will create high-end, advanced manufacturing jobs. We have to continue to open up markets all over the world for American products. We need to continue with an all-of-the-above energy policy and really push for the development of all sources of energy. Immigration reform is an unfinished piece of business. But the principal thing we need to be pursuing is a very aggressive strategy of putting people back to work.
NJ How would the president accomplish those goals with a Republican-controlled House and possibly Senate?
AXELROD They have had a policy of obstruction from the day the president arrived. When the president is reelected, it will be a rejection of the politics of obstruction. Theres this reign of terror going on in the Republican Party.
I suppose we shouldn’t be surprised to hear this kind of rhetoric from the flailing and failing Obama campaign. Axelrod and his cohorts have gotten outfought, outraised, and outclassed in two short months after having the field all to themselves for over a year. Yesterday, the campaign accused Mitt Romney of being a felon, which prompted a demand for an apology that will not be coming forthwith, almost assuredly.
Axelrod is not just a cheap demagogue, he’s also a cheap small-d democrat. Voters sent a Republican-controlled House to Washington specifically to force a change in policy, a message that Axelrod and Barack Obama ignored. The House, by the way, has passed budgets and more than a dozen jobs bills. It’s the Democratic-controlled Senate that has been the obstruction, refusing to pass budgets so that conference committees can resolve issues, and ignoring the House jobs bills altogether. Obama has shown zero leadership on this issue, griping about Republican dissent while ignoring completely that his own party has yet to cast one single supporting vote in three tries on his own budget proposals, and won’t even attempt to hold a vote on Obama’s tax proposals.
The actual “reign of terror,” for the sake of those as historically illiterate as Axelrod, took place during the French Revolution, when it turned bloody. The revolutionaries became as despotic as the monarchy they deposed, executing thousands for dissent and purported betrayal of the revolution. It’s actually the opposite of what Republicans are doing in Congress by opposing Obama’s agenda and attempting to push forward their own. That’s as ignorant an analogy as one might see in American politics.
The real terror for Axelrod is that he’s about to lose an election, and his campaign still hasn’t figured out what its theme is yet. The strong stench of desperation is in the air, as well as the even more pungent stench of demagoguery. Axelrod should be ashamed, but won’t be.
Allow me to introduce my favorite conservative political consultant, Tyrion Lannister:
“Heads. Pikes. Walls.”
“Never happened. Never will happen. Clinton let our missile guidance technology go to China via campaign donor. Nothing ever happened.”
My favorite is, “There are men of courage knocking at our gates. Let’s go kill them.”
If Axelrod insists we could make it a reign of terror, and start hanging and shooting those public servants and their advisors who refuse their tasks.
INSANE people construct abysmally absurd "second realities," and then DEMAND that the rest of us go "live there."
>> AXELROD They have had a policy of obstruction from the day the president arrived. When the president is reelected, it will be a rejection of the politics of obstruction.
Axelrod is telling us in advance what the campaign plan is for 2014. If Obama gets his 2nd term, an all-out campaign will be underway to throw out the House Republicans with the hopes of giving Obama full control again for 2015-2016. I don’t think we should facilitate this plan.
What a slimy con man. He is one of the most untrustworthy, untelegenic, Chicago Way arm twisters I’ve seen in years. Why they let him on TV is beyond me. He creeps me out.
So far, the 0bama campaign slogan seems to be:
SQUIRREL!
Since when are liberals not lying? Oh yeah, I know. when they’re sleeping
Don't blame Harry and Nancy for writing the handbook of "obstructionist opposition." They are merely students, devotees of it. And so are all of Obama's enablers and codependents.
They are all students of Saul Alinsky a Left Progressive intellectual whose main specialty was the inversion of Reality, and the tactics required for "instantiating" such an inversion in the political realm.
Don't forget, Saul Alinsky dedicated his famous book, Rules for Radicals to Lucifer himself as the very model for human "liberty."
In order to invert Reality, you have to spit on any idea of objective Truth. Thus, such inverters feel completely empowered to lie, cheat, and steal to get where they want to go the construction of a "dream world" that has never worked anywhere, anytime, in all of human history and totally falsifies human nature into the bargain.
With these people, the end always justifies the means.
The problem is, such means are not only anti-rational, but also anti-Liberty and anti-Life.
Can America build a future of liberty and prosperity on the basis of Lies?
Personally, I do not think that is possible.
Thanks so much for the ping, dear Thirsty Man!
Well once again you have helped enlighten me Betty Boop! I did not know that the Alinsky connection was so pervasive and so devilish.
I have a new respect for the depth this obstructionist opposition and of our true enemy. Clearly this war is against the students of the evil one himself, not just against some stubborn misled people.

Axelrod as a mouthpiece for Obama and needs to be thoroughly vetted along with his Chicago communist family including any relationship with Frank Davis and other communists in Chicago. I still want to know who of this cabal knew Obama was being groomed for POTUSA and who told communist party members in Moscow in the 1980s that such was happening.
Thank you so much for sharing your insights, dearest sister in Christ!
Even when sleeping, they lie in bed. ;-P
Totally agreed, dear Thirsty Man these people know EXACTLY what they're doing, and why. They constitute the gravest threat to our constitutional (i.e., God-given) liberties in the history of this nation.
Meanwhile, many of our friends here refuse to recognize who "the enemy" is. Evidently, they believe the enemy is Romney. And so they propose to "force" an "Open Convention." If this happens, in all likelihood, the ObamaAlinsky crowd of radical Left Progressives will have triumphed, and our culture of Liberty will perish absolutely in consequence. Then we'll all be sucked into interminable class warfare into the bargain.
One hopes such folks will soon return from their visit to Fantasyland, will soon recover from their pernicious pipe dreams.... Bottom line, such folks are only enabling an Obama victory.
I maintain, as ever in my posts in reply to anything about Axelrod, that he reminds me of three things:
1) A 1950s Black and White Porno film actor where the male cast members are never naked. (They wear their black socks!)
2) Looks like Adolph Hitler in a B movie
3) Looks like a overcoat flasher/child molester.
Pick one, Pick two, or all three....take it to the bank.
bttt :)
