Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, the last GOP running mate, predicted former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice would make a “wonderful” vice president for Mitt Romney.
“I think that Condoleezza Rice would be a wonderful vice president, and she certainly has much more experience than our sitting president does today,” Palin said Thursday night on Fox News’s “On the Record with Greta Van Susteren.”

The problem with Condi is that it makes it Obama vs Bush...Condi will be grilled over her role in the leadup to the Iraq War, it’s going to open up a can of worms that was best left alone.

She’s super qualified, but I don’t think she’s solidly in the Conservative camp. I never have felt she was.
It’s just a visceral feeling I have in my gut that minority candidates (any minority) have to strive twice as hard and demonstrate twice as commitment, if they want to pass for Conservatives.
There are way too many temptations for them to ‘make their career’ by yanking a rabbit out of a hat and shocking everyone with some last minute and wholly unexpected ‘about-face’!!!
As a prime example, Powell has tap-danced around like this for decades, to the point where he has made himself totally irrelevant and can be believed and trusted by NO ONE.
The massive political capital he COULD have accumulated was squandered by his perpetual and selfish insistence on riding the fence

I wonder if Condi really wants her private life and dating history open to inspection. She was dating some married football player a number of years ago.
I have no idea if thats a real sentiment or just a chance to take a jab at the Kenyan.

We don’t elect a VP. We just go along with the President on that issue, hoping upon hope, we will not need him.

Stay Calm everyone. Sarah is not going to bring up the short falls of Condi because she is NOT going to be the Veep Choice. So Sarah doesn’t have to be in the trap of not supporting a women. Plus her comment that Condi is more qualified than the sitting President is a classic Sarah zinger.
I have told people all along...it will be a minority or a woman....this probably is a trial balloon.....

This is exactly why there can be no Rice-A-Romney. I really hope that Romney is smart enough to see this. I know the GOPe are stupid enough to choose Rice. Let’s hope Romney just floated the name out there to gauge the reaction. I like Sarah a lot, but I’m not sure what she’s thinking. You do not want to arm Bozo with the ability to drudge (pun intended) up Bush and the whole Iraq War thing again.

I’m inclined to agree, it would be stupid to bring anyone associated with the Bush Administration into the picture, it just opens up all of those wounds again, and it is a guaranteed loser. Hopefully it was nothing more than a trial balloon....as they say, “Go in as a Pope, come out as a Cardinal.”

I agree with you too. Romney needs to consider a women, this has been a media play starting with Ann Romney’s comments. Condi is perfect media play because she is single. Just wait, stories will come out that she turned the VEEP spot down.
