Under pressure to reveal where he is and what his ailments may be, Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr.s doctors released a statement Wednesday night saying he is being treated for a mood disorder.
But the statement is unlikely to dampen the speculation about the Illinois Democrats mystery medical ordeal, considering the statement gave few details.
The release, sent out by the lawmakers spokesman, did not identify his doctors name nor the facility at which he is being treated.
The statement read: Information regarding the Congressmans treatment is protected by federal law under the privacy provisions of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPPA). The name of the attending physician and treatment center will not be disclosed in order to protect his continuing privacy. His physician makes the following statement: The Congressman is receiving intensive medical treatment at a residential treatment facility for a mood disorder. He is responding positively to treatment and is expected to make a full recovery. In addition, the rumors about him being treated for alcohol or substance abuse is not true.
The surprise statement came after a day in which the drumbeat for Jackson to divulge more about his medical condition grew louder, as House Democratic leaders joined the call for him to inform voters and his colleagues about his unusual leave of absence.

Bath salts.
Jesse Jackson IS a mood disorder.
Yes, marxist racial hatred is a “mood disorder”.
So is drug use. And stupidity. And political extortion. And lying.
Pick one from Column A and one from Column B, or all of the above.
So...these so-called “mood disorders” do they appear so quickly and at his age? “Booze or “drug” disorder, methinks.
Is he being treated for Tertiary Syphilis, AIDS? Anyone know?
I have said this before on other posts:
The wording of the medical reports strongly suggests a Schizophrenic disorder, possibly bipolar, and most probably bought on by stress of some sort, either drug, alcohol, or emotional.
“Clinically Crazy” and suffering “Severe Kleptomania Syndrome” are hardly a barrier to American blacks holding high elected office.
Just ask their constituents.
Maybe he sleeps with the fishes in Lake Michigan.
Best guess: He’s on suicide watch after a failed suicide attempt. But who really knows?
Perhaps he is in a bad mood, because he can’t get a freakin’ drink. But this, of course, is speculation.
1. Face a criminal investigation.
2. Check yourself into an undisclosed medical facility for undisclosed "medical reasons."
3. Continue collecting your paycheck at the expense of the U.S. taxpayer.
Heck, if Ted Kennedy knew it was this easy he would have lived to the age of 500.
I’m thinking maybe that Rod Blagojevich is talking and noone in the Democratic syndicate is willing to silence him. If JJ jr. is implicated in the Senate seat of Zero it could be huge.
Yeah, the alcohol and drug withdrawal make a dude real moody.
It’s sickening to read about this guy being a “lawmaker”.
I suspect some dirt is about to come out on him. He’s playing the crazy card in advance.
It seems like he has the right to keep his ailment disclosed.
I think this boy’s cheese has done slid off his cracker.
