Only on FR do I see the twin delusions:

1) the R convention may nominate somebody else beside Mitty

2) electing Baraq will lead to great conservative wins in 014 and 016.

Well, I'll put that up against the problems a Mitt win presents to conservatives. If Mitt wins, the GOP-E elements in Congress will immediately go back to embracing Mitt's liberalism instead of fighting Obama's. Mitt will probably turn Obamacare into a Romneystein version of its former self, instead of trying to kill it outright. And Mitt is incredibly weak at projecting his view for America the way Reagan was. As a result, I can see significant GOP losses in 2014 if he becomes president. And the GOP-E, emboldened by the win, will redouble its efforts to sandbag the Tea Party and fight much-need changes to government that are far bigger than either Obama or Romney.

Yeah, I can see how Romney would represent a short-term improvement over Obama in areas such as taxes, energy and the overall economy. The longer term? Much more nebulous and fraught with deep pitfalls.

So the conservative concerns about Romney are nowhere near as shallow as some try to portray.

I have sworn off these Threads and have decided to participate only on topics regarding Cars, Dogs, Guns or Kittens.

The Dog and Kitten driving their Chevy to the Gun Range agree with your Post 100%. That scenario is about as realistic as a Conservative groundswell in 2016 should Obama be reelected.

If Obama didn't piss enough Republicans off that they would support a Conservative Candidate over Romney in the Primaries, it will never happen. Now we play the hand we were dealt, since NONE of us Voted for Romney in the Primary Elections. Rush is the Mayor of Realville and he explained the situation on today's show.

Allow me to quote Doris Day. “Que Sara Sara, whatever will be will be”. Looks like the Unicorns are restless tonight.

Only on FR do I see the twin delusions:  I'm not seeing what you are.

1) the R convention may nominate somebody else beside Mitty

I don't see anyone thinking this is actually going to happen.  I do see people saying it's the only reasoned thing to do when a guy this Left gets the nomination.  I heartily agree with that.

2) electing Baraq will lead to great conservative wins in 014 and 016.

I haven't see anyone advocating for this either.  I do see people who reveal that Romney is so far left they can't vote for him in good concience.  I am one of them.  If Romney were the nominee for the Democrats this year, not a single one of us would vote for him, because he is such a Leftist/Statist.

You may have seen a few people express what you have written here, but I think almost all folks are as I have described their outlook here.

Would I rather see Romney elected rather than Obama?  Yes I would, and I think it will happen.  I'll still have no part in it.

Whatever this guy passes in the next four years, my hands are clean.  And if per chance Obama is re-elected, a lot of us out here said it would be a lot harder to elect another Leftist instead of Obama.  What we needed was a man who could clearly differentiate himself from the types of things Obama does.

Obamacare bad!  Romneycare good??????  LOL, good luck with that.  Repeal and replace... good luck with that too.  Don't blame me when he does it.

We need the government out of our lives, not in it with the right plan.  There is no right plan.  Romney hasn't a clue what I'm talking about here.
