How Many Washington, D.C. Households are still without Power?

Posted on 07/09/2012 11:24:35 AM PDT by immadashell

I haven't seen any update in over three days. Are there still people without power? ...and, Why hasn't the MSM reported on it if there were?

I sure wish the one on 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue was without power.

The Republican House is without power. The Republican Senate even more so.

On Sunday I heard the number still without power was 10,000 with 9,000 of them in MD and the balance in VA. The story has been relegated to the weather segments.

Notice that the “Imperial Capitol” of the world can’t keep the lights on. And when they go off they have trouble getting them on again.

The interesting thing about the whole problem is that, in general, the wealthier the neighborhood the more people lost power, and the longer it was out.

Poor neighboorhoods in the city didn’t have trees to fall on anything.

It was the wealthy NW DC neighboorhoods, or the suburbs in Maryland and Virginia, with lots of trees that suffered the most.

Was without power for 16 days after Hurricane Wilma. Even though it was late October in South Florida, temps were in the lower 90’s with +80% humidity. They restored power to my home while we were out. There are differing theories, but one says power guys unfamiliar with local wiring sent 220 down the 110 line. The other says that the moisture caused a short in something. Either way, we lost our home to the fire.
