Many Republican activists have voiced concern over the Romney campaigns rhetorical stumbles since the U.S. Supreme Court upheld President Obamas health care law. However, voters still overwhelmingly believe the likely GOP nominees claim that he will repeal the law if elected.
A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that 80% of Likely U.S. Voters nationwide think its likely the health care law will be repealed if Romney is elected president and Republicans win control of Congress. Just 15% see it as unlikely. The figures include 52% who believe a GOP sweep would make repeal Very Likely. (To see survey question wording, click here.)

Incredibly naive people think a president can repeal anything without majorities in both House and Senate.
And even then it ain’t a cakewalk.
http://www.rasmussenreports.com/public_content/politics/obama_administration/daily_presidential_tracking_poll The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Monday shows Mitt Romney attracting 46% of the vote, while President Obama earns support from 45%. Five percent (5%) prefer some other candidate, and five percent (5%) are undecided.
Voters see a clear choice between the candidates on the health care issue. If Romney is elected and Republicans win control of Congress, 80% say its likely the presidents health care law will be repealed. Hardly anyone expects repeal if the president is reelected and Democrats regain control of Congress.
New numbers on the health care law show that 53% of voters nationwide still favor repeal of the health care law.
Good luck with all that, since Judas Roberts gave it his official “Okey Dokey.”
Most people (myself included) thought the Obamacare mandate would be easily struck down by the USSC. We know how well that turned out.
if Romney or the congress tries to do anything with obamacare, the left will slaughter them in the press - I do not envy any of them one bit.
This isn’t over yet. There’s more lawsuits going to the supreme court before it gets implemented. But we definitely need obama to lose in november. That will give the wishy washy supremes the balls to stand up to obamacare.
Riiiiight.
How do you know that those same people are not factoring in the GOP holding control of the House and gaining control majority of the Senate? =.=
Conservatives are still pulling the knife out of their back on that one.
Frankly, I think more effort should be put into countering ObamaCare should it survive into the next presidencey as is put into any effort to repeal it.
The presidential race is a 50/50 proposition to win, imho. Republicans holding onto the House I would put at about 65/35. Democrats hold onto the Senate I would put at about 50/50.
That means there’s about a 1 in 6 chance that all 3 will go anti-democrat.
“That will give the wishy washy supremes the balls to stand up to obamacare.”

The two jews and the wise latina are all hard core Communists. There is nothing wishy-washy about them.
And I doubt Romney's commitment to repeal anyway.
See #10
there’s one wishy washy guy, maybe two.
I doubt it, too, but political reality might force him to try. I doubt he’ll totally repeal it, though. First, there are some things in it that have gained acceptance. Second, there are some totally unrelated to health care things in it that I’m unsure of Romney’s stand on.
I understand the 2700 pages of ObamaCare actually includes some tiny section that increases taxes on gold, so who knows how Romney sees that. I don’t have a clue.
This country is screwed in so many ways and it is almost impossible to get it unscrewed — it is like attempting to raise a dead person.
Europe will unscrew itself before the US will.
If they had the intelligence to do their own thinking, they would recall what some, not many probably, were taught in civics class. To wit: It is the Legislative Branch that enacts and repeals laws. Not the Executive Branch.
Congress can repeal obamacare. Should, and it is a big should, he be elected, Romney's action would be , should Congress pass a law to repeal obamacare, again there is about the same chances of this happening as the sun rising in the west, Romney's actions would be limited to signing or vetoing the bill.
The dumbing down of society has left people thinking the POTUS is a king who can make law on a whim. If you talk to ignorant people who support Obama, they really think of the President as something like a monarch.
You speak truth, CK. It’s among the really troubling things about today’s Americans. The president is mentioned after the Congress in the Constitution, the Congress always was seen as the most powerful body, and the Executive was to be an “executor” of laws and directions set by the legislative body.
Perhaps it’s easier to think of a king than it is a “manager”, but the president is a manager and a director. That is far from monarch.
Suckers.
