New TSA Rules: Passengers Must 'Freeze on Command'?
Gather.com ^ | July 7, 2012 | Jim Kane

According to possible new TSA rules, air travelers may be compelled to "freeze" when ordered to by screeners.

The federal safety agency has yet to comment on this policy, but an airline passenger claimed agents recently practiced a drill on his wife.

"We heard a "freeze, freeze" or something like this coming from the output side of security (where my wife was), followed by further barking of commands," the man said.

"It turns out they were doing a new drill. They want all passengers to freeze on command. My wife told me later that she didn't follow this order fast enough, so the subsequent barks I heard were directed at her," he added.

Now, this anecdote has not been confirmed by the safety agency, so it should remain in the rumor zone at this point. But, considering all the crazy TSA rules, would anyone be surprised if it were true?

Could you have imagined, a decade ago, that you would be forced to submit to naked imaging just to get on an airplane? Or that young children would be groped by strangers in uniforms?

There is no compelling evidence these absurd TSA rules do anything to thwart terrorism. Just recently, the agency announced that screeners now have the right to test beverages purchased by travelers, even after the people have gone through security. How much more of this can people take?

I’m saving that on my hard drive too! It’s positively brilliant in summing up what the TSA has become. A couple of years ago another freeper posted that the head of Israeli security after observing the TSA said we don’t have a security system, we have a system for bothering people.

I quit flying in 2002. Used to fly 5 times a year. Last time I flew was Jun, 2002. If I can’t drive, I don’t go.

TSA needs to be dismantled and/or destroyed permanently. Treating people like criminals in lock down. Desensitization.

Haven’t flown since November 2001. As long as TSA is around I never will.

How funny it would be if they armed all TSA workers.

I've been tempted to play dumb and ask one..."since you don't have police powers, why do you wear a badge"?

Figure it’d happen by now, with TSA molesting crying little kids in front of dads.

Boycott flying until this madness stops.

Then the Liberal Messiah will tax us for not flying. The Chief Sellout said it would be fine.

I make 14 trips a year, for work only, every one I am feeling more like a cow and less like a human.

The TSA ignore me for the most part, but the hassle is taking off my belt, my shoes, and getting scanned and patted every 5th time.

As a platinum flyer you get the royal treatment, I will never aquire enough miles on my short hops around the USA to be treated well.
This year we cut back our corporate trips, next year I scheduled less. I hope to eliminate all trips unless the TSA is removed.

A reminder that GW Bush gave us the TSA.
Bambi made it worse, but starting it was a mistake.

Anyone remember the Stanford prison experiment from the early '70?

Is that the one they had to stop early because students assigned to 'play guard' became sadistic? That was a mess. Much emotional violence in a very short time.

Police officers have massive training and testing to keep these types OUT - the kind who like to throw their weight around... Looks like the TSA - basically bank security guard types - and paranoid supervisors lack that wisdom...

Yep, that's the one. Shut down 6 days into a 2 week experiment.

I'm not sure the local police or the fed gov gun carriers are familiar with that research.

We just need less government. Period. I'll handle problems on this block, with the help of neighbors. I don't need outside assistance until tanks start rolling in. I don't expect Mexico to send in tanks.

My concern is the TSA knows what they're doing.

You understand psychology - what happens when a person hurts another? Gives a seemingly deadly shock to an innocent? The one giving the shock justifies it. A decision is made the person deserved it. Or 'the man' in the white coat HAD the authority to make the request...bad things

If TSA agents are encouraged to bully citizens they'll start seeing citizens differently. It's a mess. And if this is intentional, potentially a horror.

I'm a cook, and when it comes to brains; scrambled, with eggs and sausage is the way I roll.

I do know some folks that might be able to give some insight, though.

“Rape.....you might as well relax and enjoy it”

What a disgusting point to compare.
Ignorant.
Rape is a criminal act of violence. Not a joke. Not an act of pleasure.

Then why repeatedly subject yourself to and an complain yet do nothing about it?

What they are doing to ordinary innocent citizens is WRONG and yet people stand by and DO NOTHING!

It is ACTUALLY what the TSA is doing and no one lifts a finger to stop it.

The sad joke is that you express more outrage about my choice of words more than you do towards the people committing these acts day in and day out and yet you choose to call me ignorant.

It’s not an uncommon tactic for government agents. Fortunately; you survived the encounter.

Not all do.

Living in Las Vegas, married to a pilot, with frequent flying, we’ve never had a problem at our airport. I think they want the tourists to come back and don’t want to pi$$ them off. Just sayin’. TSA here are some of the most professional and polite I’ve encountered. I could tell you about some other cities, but bad experiences tend to go into my “denial vault.”

A polite Nazi SS officer is STILL a Nazi SS officer... they ALL need to go!
