ABC Anchor: 'The Best News' - Gas Prices 'Might Drop Another 50 Cents...

If you were a television news anchor reporting on falling gas prices, why would you say "the best news" was that a gallon of gasoline "might drop another 50 cents by Halloween, just in time for the election?"

Believe it or not, ABC's Paula Faris, appearing on Monday's Good Morning America, actually said exactly that (video follows with transcript and commentary):

ABC Anchor: 'The Best News' - Gas Prices 'Might Drop Another 50 Cents...Just in Time For the Election'

GRAPHICS: PRICE PLUNGE

AMY ROBACH (ABC NEWS): And millions of Americans are getting ready to hit the road for the July Fourth holiday. And whether just driving to a family barbecue or setting off on a summer road trip, we have some new information on just how much money you could be saving on gas. ABC's Paula Faris is here with some good news. Paula?

PAULA FARIS (ABC NEWS): This is great news. Good morning to you, Amy, and good morning to you, America. Okay, we're gonna take a look at the prices right now.

GRAPHICS: GOOD NEWS AT THE PUMP

GRAPHICS: HOW LONG WILL GAS PRICES GO?

FARIS: And look at those. The national average is $3.33 a gallon. So not quite as painful at the pump as to compared to just April. Remember, we titled it gas-mageddon and potential $5-a-gallon prices, a significant jump. And compared to last year, 22% cheaper, 22 cents cheaper rather.

GRAPHICS: NATIONAL GAS PRICES

FARIS: And if you wanna see how this impacts you, here's a national map. Red states, you're paying the most. Blue states, well, look, lucky for you, especially in states like Mississippi and South Carolina where you're paying less than $3 a gallon for gas. So enjoy it. And, of course, this is of utmost importance because it's a holiday week.

GRAPHICS: HOLIDAY DRIVER NUMBERS

GRAPHICS: 42.3 MILLION ON THE ROAD

FARIS: There's a lot of folks on the road. According to AAA, over 42 million folks are traveling right now, over 50% have already left.

GRAPHICS: 54% ALREADY LEFT

FARIS: And, Amy, the best news, it might drop another 50 cents by Halloween, just in time for the election.

ROBACH: All right. Paula Faris, thank you so much.

So, "the best news" is that gas prices might be down another 50 cents "just in time for the election."

As Big Journalism's Ron Futrell observed, "Why bring the election into this? I don't fill up my tank wondering what the price will be in the fall. I look at the price on the pump now."

And this woman anchors ABC's World News Now and America This Morning.

Makes you feel comfortable about the impartiality of her reporting, doesn't it?

The entire title is: ABC Anchor: 'The Best News' - Gas Prices 'Might Drop Another 50 Cents...Just in Time for the Election'
So that twit thinks the price of gas fell because of occupant of the white hut? Did he suddenly give his okay to drill in ANWAR, or at the outer continental shelves? Did he give his total okay to the Keystone pipeline construction and go ahead? Did he give his okay to get the oil from the Bakken fields?

I really wished the SRM would let us know instead of keeping it secret

The world economy is slowing.

Another down leg in the Baraqqi Depression.
Oil price is reflecting lack of demand.

I’m happy that it torpedos Baraq, but sad that so many friends and relatives are hurting.

The world economy is slowing.

And the US GDP estimates were revised downward quite a bit. Folks are talking (even Democrats) of going back into a recession.

The Mainstream Media needs every bit of good news they can find or drum up, because the bad news and the Democrats fearful for the loss of "my country" are increasing and not over what the Republicans are doing. It is because of where the Liberal/Progressive Democrats have taken them.

Gas makers are paying an EPA fine for not putting cellulose based alcohol in gas. Take away the fines and the gas drops. No supply and demand just pure politics.

I doubt economic factors are causing any price decline for gasoline. The re-election of the criminal moron, currently occupying the White House, this November is more causative. The “Free Market” Fraud has not existed in the past, the present nor will it ever exist in the future.

Paula Faris is just another cookie-cutter TV 'reporter' that is an unpaid member of the Obama PR staff in the media - and they are legion. We see this so often now that it is hardly surprising anymore but just validation of what conservatives have been saying - accurately - for years. The only difference is that now the MSM have dropped the pretense of objectivity and become full-out left-wing hacks in lockstep with Obama and the Democrat party as they attempt to destroy America from the inside.

The price of gas in October will have nothing to do with Obama, who has been adamantly anti-oil during his pathetic term in office but if the price does drop significantly (50¢) Obama will take the credit. If it doesn't drop (or rises) the MSM will be deathly silent about it. Either way, Obama will lose the election because people are scared and he is no longer the 'Hope & Change' guy they fainted over four long years ago. Reality has bitten - hard.

Does this woman know that gas was $1.79 in December 2008?
So by her calculations gas would only be $1.00 or more a gallon instead of $2.00 more a gallon. I want the price to be what is was in December 2008 before Obama the Destroyer
took over.

Reminder to voting Americans:

Barack Obama has said that he is okay with $4 a gallon gasoline.

Barack Obama has also said that energy prices would necessarily rise as a result of his energy policies.

I have been calling gas prices below $3 “just in time for the elections” for almost a year. It’s WAY too predictable.

Think how much money that’ll leave me to donate to NON-Democrat candidates! happy days!

Monkeys are pounding the gas price calculator keyboard! Three weeks ago, in central indiana, gas was around $3.89 (screw that stupid 9/10th!!).

Last week it was $3.11.

Today it is back to $3.59.

Are they TRYING to drive us crazy?

Warren Buffett lost a billion dollars running up the price of gas in 2008.
