A pair of Russian strategic nuclear bombers were intercepted near the Pacific coast Wednesday, the Washington Free Beacon reported the second such incident in two weeks.
According to the Free Beacon, the two long range bombers entered the U.S. air defense zone and came close to the U.S. coast, but did not enter sovereign airspace. The bombers were were visually identified by NORAD fighters, Pentagon spokesman Capt. John Kirby said.
The first incident in late June involved two Tu-95 Bear H bombers near Alaska conducting war games, which included simulated attacks on enemy air defenses and strategic facilities, a Russian military spokesman told the site.
From the Free Beacon:
The bomber flights near the Pacific and earlier flights near Alaska appear to be signs Moscow is practicing the targeting of its long-range air-launched cruise missiles on two strategic missile defense sites, one at Fort Greely, Alaska and a second site at Vandenberg Air Force Base, Calif.
In May, Russian Gen. Nikolai Makarov, the chief of the Russian General Staff, said during a Moscow conference that because missile defense systems are destabilizing, A decision on pre-emptive use of the attack weapons available will be made when the situation worsens. The comments highlighted Russian opposition to planned deployments of U.S. missile defense interceptors and sensors in Europe.
The U.S. defense official called the latest Bear H incident near the U.S. West Coast Putins Fourth of July Bear greeting to Obama.

Putins Fourth of July Bear greeting to Obama.
Weakness invites aggression. Always has, always will. Putin is sending the boy president an unmistakable message: It’s game on.
thata one fine looking airplane.
Wow, 575 mph, that’s faster than I would have guessed (B-52 top speed 650)
I second that fear. What it is could be anything. Riots,EMP explosion, or good ole terrorist attack. Anything is possible with the bunch in Washington.

I think we are in for a rocky road—and I don’t mean ice cream in the next few weeks. Obama may well try to cancel the election or rig it so her “wins” with a majority. I put nothing past him—even assassinations and a take over of the Government. This could end in Civil War, or a Junta—in any case the USA is screwed. Maybe its a good thing—lets see how the world does with Red China in total control. Lets see what life is like without the bad old USA.
We have been experiencing the same gut feeling that you have...we have felt strongly led to get our house in order, we hope we’re wrong too...
“You’ve got a short memory.”
What EXACTLY did I say that would lead you to conclude I’m not aware that Soviet bombers have been probing our air space for many years? I simply said that Putin sees weakness in Obama and will continue to engage in not so subtle intimidation tactics against him. As a recent case in point, Putin’s outward disdain for Obama was publically evidenced at the G20 meeting in June, and back in May when he dismissively cancelled a meeting with him. The frequency and intensity of these incidents will likely increase. As I said, weakness always invites aggression.
I’m a veteran who has actually tracked many Soviet flights in the past. Suggest you not make unfounded assumptions before making gratuitious remarks.
Very good post. The Democrat/MSM axis will do virtually anything to avoid revealing who Obama really is and exposing his true agenda. They both go down hard if the light of truth ever comes out.
Obama: "After my election I have more flexibility to bend over into more accommodating positions for Vlad."
Medvedev: "I understand. I will transmit this information to Vladimir."
Amazing picture.
And hilarious tagline!
