“You’ve got a short memory.”

What EXACTLY did I say that would lead you to conclude I’m not aware that Soviet bombers have been probing our air space for many years? I simply said that Putin sees weakness in Obama and will continue to engage in not so subtle intimidation tactics against him. As a recent case in point, Putin’s outward disdain for Obama was publically evidenced at the G20 meeting in June, and back in May when he dismissively cancelled a meeting with him. The frequency and intensity of these incidents will likely increase. As I said, weakness always invites aggression.

I’m a veteran who has actually tracked many Soviet flights in the past. Suggest you not make unfounded assumptions before making gratuitious remarks.

The flights would take place no matter what President was in power. Look at the intensity of the flights even when Reagan was in power. It is situation normal for the Russian strategic aviation as part of their nuclear triad. The flights are in international airspace. Even if Bush was still President the flights would still be taking place. As you know it is a game of cat and mouse going on for years and has nothing to do with what President is currently in the Whitehouse.
