Workday was not too bad - not very productive, though. The infection is responding to meds. The arthritis is spreading. :(
The heat is the worst I have ever encountered outside the Orient. 'Nam was incredibly hot - in the elephant grass the temps went up into the 130's - air temp outside in the high 90's.
On our flight out to Taiwan in 1963, (my father was assigned to a medical research unit there) we hit the deck at Agana, Guam at about noon - over 100 and humid. I went into the men's room to shave and I was sweating profusely through the exercise. No relief until we got back on the plane. Then we hit Clark AFB - hot as Hades until the sky opened, but little relief - it was like being in a steam bath.
This evening at 9:00 p.m., I was all but swooning on the short walk from the van to my house. We're not used to this kind of heat here. We're praying for snow!
Genuflectimus non ad principem sed ad Principem Pacis!
Listen, O isles, unto me; and hearken, ye people, from far; The LORD hath called me from the womb; from the bowels of my mother hath he made mention of my name. (Isaiah 49:1 KJV)
