I thought my fellow FREEPERS would enjoy this blast from the past.

Cute...but what the cartoon didn’t show was the old guy with the grey beard eating the spare ribs and ham sandwich behind the big stone monument after the end.

Odd to hear the Star Spangled Banner without “under God”, but that was added later.

Thanks for posting. I’ve never seen this 1939 cartoon before. Wikipedia says it was Porky’s second cartoon in color.
How far we’ve descended into Hell in seven short decades, huh?

I loved it! that is, until the last minute when Lincoln appeared.

Thanks. Great memories. What ever happened to quality cartoons like this? They absolutely suck today. Poor kids.

Tears, thanks. Happy 4th of July to all and God Bless America

I always enjoy classic cartoons of every stripe but this one is really good for Independence Day. What a collection of political incorrectness — To Arms!! To Arms!! indeed. Add in the ever-larger INJUSTICE after running the list of the King’s offenses against the colonies and you certainly get a sense of history repeating itself, IMO.
