The small town of East Hampton has gained a reputation as the playground for New Yorks well-heeled elite, a place to spend the idle summer months in their million-dollar homes. But some of its wealthy residents are upset at an influx of less well-heeled workers who they say are lowering the quality of life and diminishing the appearance of the quaint Long Island town. A campaign group is focusing on the Springs area of East Hampton, dubbing itself 'Unoccupy Springs' and calling for an end to multiple families of low-wage workers living under one roof.

Big Schadenfreude smile. I love it when limousine liberals finally suffer from the policies they promote.

East Hampton...that’s “trust funded Marxists” territory, isn’t it? This story must be one huge misprint.

The rich folks are upset because they unexpectedly have to assume the tax burden for their own cheap labor.
And some people wonder why there are conservatives who are unmoved by the complaint that half of Americans are paying no federal income tax. There are other burdens that usually fall disproportionately on American workers of more modest incomes as the people on Long Island are now finding out.

Summer time, all those estates needing full time landscaping and grooming. Bring in the undocumented, pay them peanuts. Its unfortunate that with rents in the summer being sky high they have to cram in houses 3rd world style.
Yeah check with me when I give a damn.

Bastion would be an understatement. The Hamptons are where the limousine liberal elite of Manhattan gather during the summers.

So, what happens when these apartment-dwellers get riled up by Occutard rabble-rousers and burn down an entire village worth of mansions? Oh, that’s right, the rabble-rousers won’t be doing that. Thanks C19fan.

Sheriff Joe and Jan should fill up a few buses and send a few more to join them.

I was out on a boat from Montauk nearly 15 years ago, and illegals had already stolen the jobs on the boats that Americans used to do. I couldn’t understand at the time where they lived; it is hours east of NYC. I also couldn’t understand how the uppity yankees tolerated them.

Hey you!! Thanks for the ping!
Years ago, I believe it was some time in the 90’s, Farmingville had an all out battle w/ the illegals. It wasn't the housing they were upset about.
These “cockroaches” were everywhere, standing in parking lots, blocking the entrances, harassing the ladies and young girls w/ sexual innuendos, etc.
I don't feel bad for the Hampton people. They are the ones hiring them. The illegal population has exploded here on Long Island.
I NEED OUT!!! =)
