Question about MSNBC
Vanity

Posted on 07/04/2012 4:50:29 AM PDT by ProudFossil

We have been on a cruise around the Mediterrean for the last three weeks, very little news about the US. Only channels available are Fox, MSNBC, Skye, and BBC Europe. Time difference means watching hours later than your time.

It looks like MSNBC has no advertising, all we get are the same comments from the anchors(?) about the condition of the country. I watched MSNBC for 45 minutes and not one commercial but about 20 minutes of the same comments from the anchors(?).

Is it possible that maybe MSNBC is fading off into the neverland of extinct channels?

As long as GE owns NBC, PMSNBC will be there for the propaganda value so GE can keep selling all of its green energy crap supported by the lies of AGW. Look at it this way, as long as they have that crappy channel, the justification for another fairness doctrine is not as great.

C’mon, admit it. You just used this as an excuse to tell us that you are cruising the Med.

GE no longer has the controlling interest in NBC/MSNBC. The majority/controlling shareholder is COMCAST

True, but who owns controlling stock in Comcast? I don’t care enough to find out because I wouldn’t watch it anyway. The last time I watched MSNBC was 1998 when I was building a processing plant in Penn. during the Lewinski scandal. It was insufferable then.

Also, what would happen to it if GE divested its interest in NBC? Would Comcast be able to support it? Highly unlikely. I suppose that GE had to make a move to take it off the burner because their commercial and consumer products were taking a hit.

Now that I live in the Philippines, all of my TV comes via Gsat, with about 30 channels
The only foreign news that I get is FOX and Aljazera.
NO Commie News Network or PMSNBC.
I am happy to say that I have never seen PMSNBC, even when I lived in Europe.

Government news organs never fade away. They just continue to spew government propaganda.

There is no nework or cable news organization in the
States that is not, to one extent or another, a government propaganda machine.

MSNBC, CBS, PBS, CNN, FOX...

The only news that is somewhat trustworthy are the new Internet sites, PJTV, Breitbart, come to mind.

Add your own recommendations for trustworthy news.

Don’t know about the comment about ads, but when I have watched it (I watched extensively the night of the Wisconsin recall and it was great to see their pain) they had lots of ads. I would not waste my time watching for “news”. I don’t think that they even call themselves a news channel. They are clearly and openly a lefty propaganda station and make no bones about it. CNN, as bad as it is, at least tries to pretend that they are a news channel.
