Hide yo kids, hide yo wife: it's global warming, y'all.
So says the Associated Press, which has an absurdly self-contradictory scare piece out about how the weather we're seeing is what global warming looks like. Yes. You read that right: global warming. Not climate change. I know, I'm confused, too.
If you want a glimpse of some of the worst of global warming, scientists suggest taking a look at U.S. weather in recent weeks.
Horrendous wildfires. Oppressive heat waves. Devastating droughts. Flooding from giant deluges. And a powerful freak wind storm called a derecho.
These are the kinds of extremes climate scientists have predicted will come with climate change, although it's far too early to say that is the cause. Nor will they say global warming is the reason 3,215 daily high temperature records were set in the month of June.
"This is what global warming looks like at the regional or personal level," said Jonathan Overpeck, professor of geosciences and atmospheric sciences at the University of Arizona. "The extra heat increases the odds of worse heat waves, droughts, storms and wildfire. This is certainly what I and many other climate scientists have been warning about."
Kevin Trenberth, head of climate analysis at the National Center for Atmospheric Research in fire-charred Colorado, said these are the very record-breaking conditions he has said would happen, but many people wouldn't listen. So it's I told-you-so time, he said.
DUN-DUN-DUNNNNNN.
Have these climate scientists been vindicated? Are we experiencing global warming? While admittedly, many experienced a relatively mild winter this year -- I, a native Michigander, was shocked by the mere two days of snow we had in DC from October to May, when we in the Mitten could reasonably expect wintery weather -- does anyone remember Snowpocalypse? In 2010? Can we really have gone from a record-breaking winter to "ZOMG global warming!!1!1" in two years? Dubious.
Indeed, that same AP article freely admits that these global warmingistas are just speculating; the science isn't exactly conclusive just yet.
Scientifically linking individual weather events to climate change takes intensive study, complicated mathematics, computer models and lots of time. Sometimes it isn't caused by global warming. Weather is always variable; freak things happen.
And this weather has been local. Europe, Asia and Africa aren't having similar disasters now, although they've had their own extreme events in recent years.
So, it's definitely global warming (climate change?!??!), even though just the U.S. is experiencing it. Got it. I mean, that makes sense, if you think about it, given that we're the nation on the planet that deserves the most punishment for our irresponsible use of natural resources, and the prevalence of technological progress, and stuff.
Right.
Meanwhile, I'll leave you with this: April 23, 2012, CNN.com, headline, "Winter Returns with a Vengeance in U.S. Northeast," subhead, "Rare Snowstorm Hits Northeast."
Global warming, folks. There's your proof.
So? If you can add dust storms you'll be Australian.
Well... it used to get this hot. But we didn't have AC so we didn't gripe about it, nor did we have incredibly high electric bills to worry about.
We might even end up having a strong cold winter after this. Seems things balance out in the long run, but it's hard for a society that has been brainwashed into having a 20 second attention span to deal with things like history and science.
The real worry should be about our magnetic field. It grows weaker. It is our 'shield' from cosmic radiation. If it goes, we go underground or we die.
It would appear that civilizations have gone underground several times in history. There are ancient underground cities around the world, and there are new ones being built right now.
That is why the ruling elite wants all your money. They plan on providing for themselves, should we lose the magnetic shield.
Crazy sounding? Maybe. Of course there are the massive seed storage facilities that the ruling elite have established. And the Near Earth Asteroid Telescopes built all over the planet.
They do not know which 'catastrophe' will strike us, but they darn sure want to be the survivors, and in the meantime, they are all going for broke. Laws do not matter, nations do not matter. Only survival.
Global Warming is merely a 'scam' , a 'distraction' to create a large pool of funds to use.
You know... it's from "Doshua fought the battle of Derecho, and walls came tumbling down."
Oh yeah, I was a Sunday school teacher when my kids were little. How could I forget!
I don't know how they maintain a blend of superiority complex and hypocrisy in their heads. I really don't.
Of course, if it is fifty below zero across the nation next winter that will be simply weather, and evidence of nothing.
We finally shook off the ice age and now temps are back to normal.
Indeed, summer has always been hot. Hotter in some parts than others. With weather, there are always surprises. I’ve lived a long time and I’ve seen blazing hot droughts where every blade of grass turns to straw. Some of those summers were back when the “experts” were predicting a new Ice Age. Conditions that effect weather are so variable it is impossible to predict what mother nature will cook up. This “Land Hurricane” was huge and took its toll, but it was not the first time it has happened and it won’t be the last. Actually, we rather enjoyed the “down time” as an excuse to be lazy for a change. Actually it was educational, in that we now know that we were not as prepared as we thought. things came up that we had not thought of. Nobody was rioting. Neighbors came out and talked. Imagine that.
The 70’s were hot like this, but the 30’s were worse.
But then again the hottest year on record was in the 1870’s.
Good thing we quit producing CO2 in 1880.

Thanks for the response. For responding so kindly to my silliness, I owe you.
New thread with neat pictures and info about DERECHOES.

Seems they are fairly common, and something the public would be aware of.
This is the first time I have heard the term, so that thread was a great education.
Now I have to wonder just what else is there I don’t know.
: )
You're one of those 'glass half full' people, aren't you?
: )
Yes I guess I am, thank you. Over the years I’ve learned not to sweat the small stuff, and that the good Lord has a gift for us in every tragedy, but we have to look for it.
It’s an admirable quality.
BS Globull Warming placement !
The [news media] is a device for making the ignorant more ignorant
and the crazy crazier.
The whole aim of practical politics is to keep the populace alarmed
by menacing it with an endless series of hobgoblins, all of them
imaginary.

WOW! has Summer grown up since “Serenity”. One of my autograph disappointment moments. She was supposed to show up at a convention in Baltimore years ago but couldn’t make it.
WOW! where did you find this picture? I’d love to get one for her to autograph in the future.
Send answer if available in private reply. thanks
Naturally caused events are always a plus for an agenda. When there was a terrific snow storm in NY when Al “global warming” Gore was to speak and then cancelled........well that doesnt count
