Sending six-year-old Suri to the Sea Organisation, or Sea Org as it is known, is what is said to have been the final straw for Katie Holmes before she filed for divorce.
The group is run like a military clique from the Scientology Gold Base in California which has sniper-style nest bunker that overlooks the entire property.
Members are paid just $50 a week and banned from leaving their base or they are tracked down by a special team who used emotional pressure or physical force.
Former Scientology security chief Gary Morehead has claimed that he tracked down more than 100 Sea Org members who left in his 13 years on the job using what he called a ‘blow drill’, referring to the techniques he employed to hunt people down.
If Sea Org members try to leave they are also given a ‘freeloader tab’ which is a bill for all the work they have received, and can run into six figures.

Yeah, but her’s and her daughter’s lives are going to be tough and dangerous for a long time to come. This outfit does not take well at all to defectors.
I was invited to join the Sea Org, too.
But I had a commitment for the year 312,445,212 that I just could not break. So I regretfully turned them down......
If the allegations of conduct are true the group should be suppressed.

I lived near the Scientology building in LA and had to deal extensively with the Sea Org folks on a Neighborhood Watch group I set up. They are very, very strange people. And I don’t mean that in a good way.
Janet Reno would not have bothered a group with lots of money, and a demonstrated ability to infiltrate government agencies which annoyed them.
They’re evil ... they prey on the gullible and the emotionally insecure (gee ... actors? Gullible and emotionally insecure??? Ya think?) ... if they didn’t dress up their idiocy in religious trappings, nobody would bat an eye at calling it fraud.
