July 3, 2012 Romney Campaign Declaring Cease Fire on Health Care Posted by Staff
In the aftermath of the Supreme Court health care ruling, the early conventional wisdom was that an unfavorable health care ruling at the court would be good for Republicans politically, even as it was a serious policy setback for conservatives. But that's not shaping up to be the case. Mitt Romney, after giving a brief statement decrying the decision, has been virtually silent on criticizing the health care law. He's been on vacation and his campaign has been giving off clear signals that it doesn't want to make health care a major part of the election.
His senior adviser, Eric Fehrnstrom, went on MSNBC Monday and ended up agreeing with the Obama campaign's spin that, even though the Supreme Court declared the individual mandate a tax, it really still is a penalty. Significantly, his campaign appears to want to take the most potent argument against the president on the health care subject off the table, likely out of fear the Romney himself is vulnerable when it comes to his health care record. He, after all, supported a mandate as governor of Massachusetts, and doesn't want that to be considered a tax, either.
The new President is not sworn in until Noon...
Man,nothing gets by around here.
The Congress is sworn in first week of January. The president is sworn in the third week. The House and Senate both can vote to repeal as soon as they are sworn & Romney can sign the bill on his first day. How am I wrong about this?

Anything passed in Congress berfore Jan 20 is Obamas responsibility...
He gets to veto the legislature before Romney if hes elected would be POTUS...
Nothing would be put aside or on the back burner waiting for Romney...
If it was passsed on the 19th, it would go to Obama...
Obama doesnt lose his power in the office of POTUS in early Nov...
he will be still just as much the president until Jan 20 at noon...
that is also how he would get to pardon Holder on the 19th...
See post #121.
I rarely read what Democrats say. Even have my TV tricked up so when obama shows up the tv turns off until he leaves (I wish).
The facts are the Democrats want Romney as a candidate. You've been hearing about that for the last 5 years.
Turns out it's true. He's actually among our weaker candidates ~ has no core beliefs, and when pressed really has nothing to say about anything meaningful.
Which Romney seems to lack.
Get rid of that lame-brained adviser, Mr. Romney, and you might have a fighting chance.
There is no cease fir “magic under wear’ one thing is for sure. . The convention is going to get wild because many delegates are not legally restricted and you stink.
You’re simply wrong, probably because you don’t have almost 40 years of experience dealing with and working on political campaigns. You like many only seem able to take the long term view.
BTW, is calling me a “newbie” supposed to be some sort of a criticism reflecting on my knowledge or lack thereof on a given subject?
LOL, how silly is that?
Oh and just so you know, Romney was out with a statement almost immediately stating he was definitely not putting his reactions to Obamacare on the back burner.
Ta ta.

Successful campaigns are NEVER run by the candidate laying out specifics on his ideas. All that does is allow the other side to pick them apart item by item and then the candidate under attack spends all his or her time on defense.
It is enough to talk about repealing obamacare, lowering the deficit and creating jobs while all the time pointing out the failures of the opposition in these areas.
Trust me, if you hand your opponent your plans for after the election he will use them like a club and beat you to death.
Can we hope that the Republicans will change course at the convention?
Excuse me but I have been working on campaigns for 40 yrs. I was precinct chair in my district, hosted fundraisers for Jim Miller and other candidates in VA. Worked for Ollie North, George Allen. Went to campaign fundraisers for Warner when he was with Elizabeth Taylor, worked for numberous candidates in MO since I moved west.
The gop needs a strong leader and Romney is lacking. Sad day when we have the one candidate that introduced socialized medicine to the USA, appointed liberal judges in Mass and even bypassed conservative judges to do so..and you are a newbie..quite possibly to push Romney? many are very aware of exactly who Romney is..TA TA...go drink a cup of tea...it is good for what ails you
If you have been involved for 40 years then you have learned nothing.
I am not a fan of Romney, he sucks, ok? I have stated so in many occasions but what I am and you are not is a realist. Romney is the nominee, deal with it and if you understood just what the heck was at stake here you wouldn’t be going on bout things which make no difference at this time.
The time o get the conservative nominee in place has been lost. Now the job is to get Obama OUT of the WH. That is the FIRST JOB without which NOTHING ELSE CAN HAPPEN. Tell me why don’t you how trashing the nominee helps us with the most important thing we have to do and that AGAIN is to get rid of Obama.
Now is NOT the time to screw your face up and wail about all of the faults Romney has. That is the job of the LEFT and they will do it well enough without your help. Obama has to go PERIOD. That is JOB ONE and after that you can bring all the heat on him you want and I will be right bedside you adding my voice to yours.
You and others here who bemoan the choice of what now appears to be over 90% of registered Republicans need to get over it and take care of saving this country from looks to be a pretty disastrous next 4 years should the moron in the WH get to stay.
Finally a Romney win will almost surely result in a Senate majority as the Rep ride on his coattails.
You have to be smart to win the election. Talk about the economy which nobody can deny is bad and then when elected you can change other things. Mitt doesn’t need the health care debate in order to defeat Obama. It’s the economy and the DOJ persecuting law abiding citizens, that is the winning issue. Possible Health care energizes some of Obama’s base, why do that ? Not sure if that is right, just thinking about it.
Silent on things that are anti AMERICAN but spent millions LYING about those who are PRO AMERICAN, Newt and Sarah. FUMR!
Enjoy your vacation - eternity is forever! Satan is the master of liars and cult leaders.
