Kind of a quick burial, wasn’t it? Maybe there ought to be an investigation or a coroner’s report.

I'll probably get flamed for this...and the post might even be deleted but....I had a lot of respect for Griffith until fairly recently when I saw him shilling OsamaObamaCare on TV.At that point he became just another showbiz son-of-a-gun in my mind.

The Andy Griffith Show—specifically, “The Barney Years”—is my favorite TV show of all time. Regardless of anything else, Andy did give us that, and I am grateful.

The 86-year-old Griffith lives on Roanoke Island, not far from the Lost Colony, a play he performed in right after high school. His pics from the Lost Colony actings days adorn the walls at Roanoke Island. It's beautiful out there.

Mr. Griffith, sorry to hear of your passing, and please RIP, but I’m glad I won’t have to listen to anymore of your dumb ObamaCare and AARP commercials. I guess they’ll be looking for another spokesman.

Obamacare becomes legal and one of its biggest supporters kicks off. Irony at work.
I always pictured the “real” Andy Griffith as the character he played in the movie “A Face In The Crowd”.

Sheriff Andy should have been handling Homeland Security, the Israeli Defense Ministry, and the War on Terror. Instead, we got...well...(un-publishable).

Comes as America leaves behind forever the laissez faire ethos of Mayberry and the countless liberties which have been cropped by the current Marxist administration.
It seems appropriate, somehow, that Griffith’s passing comes at this particular point in America’s history.
R.I.P. sheriff.

I am as saddened by some of these comments as I am by Andy’s death. Disturbed to see people almost gleeful over someone’s death because they were a liberal. I have loved many people in my life, some liberal, some conservative, I have never felt anything but sadness in the face of their death and pray that I never do.
I hope everyone on here will remember that with each death, liberal or conservative, there is a mourning family who is feeling a loss. A loss that every single one of us has felt, some many times over.
Me and Andy were at opposite ends of the political spectrum but from all accounts he professed the one thing that transcends even politics for me and that was faith in Jesus Christ. (Transcends, not excuses. Just an added note for those on here who pride themselves on definition clarification.;) I hope to see him in Heaven one day. RIP Andy

Andy Griffith was buried a little more than four hours after he died. He passed away at 7:00 AM and was interred at approx 11:30 AM (ET).
His grave is on his beloved farm on Roanoke Island, N.C.
There was almost no time for extended family and friends to pay their last respects at the funeral. The quick burial was "planned for some time" and was explained as "the wishes of the family". No other information available at this time.

What a great show. Liked Andy best when he wore a gun.
