David Corn has a report out this morning that pushes the continuing attacks on Mitt Romney's tenure at Bain Capital forward not just because of the business it involves disposing of aborted fetuses but because it extends the length of time he worked at Bain. According to Securities and Exchange Commission documents, Romney was involved in Bain's investment in a company called Stericycle in late 1999. What did Stericycle do? Well, it was a fast-growing, profitable medical waste company. But it also had some problems, such as getting fined for keeping body parts and dead animals in unmarked containers or exposing workers to tuberculosis. And then there were the fetuses. Romney now describes himself as "adamantly pro-life" now but embraced pro-choice positions on abortion in the late 1990s and early 2000s. Back when Bain was involved with Stericycle, anti-abortion activists have waged a campaign against the company.
But that revelation may not be the most significant part of Corn's report (conservatives who aren't wild about Romney's conservative credentials aren't making much noise now that Romney is the Republican nominee). The most damaging part may be the dates.

This story is so far reaching and far fetched I doubt that anyone but Corn would even consider dragging it up.
Also, I’m not so sure about the motives of the poster.
There are people here who are so anxious to discredit Romney, they seem willing to do Obama’s work for him and post things that would be more appropriate in D.U.

A full-fledged tax revolt is about the only thing that would stop these amoral experiments. In the America I was brought up in, such things would have been recognized for what they are. It might as well have been another planet.
Secular society will most likely engineer it’s own demise. I’m glad I have a “Get out of Hell Free” card.
RomneyCare guaranteed $50 abortions and Romney appointed Planned Parenthood to the board that administers RomneyCare -- both after his so-called pro-life conversion.
Well, if you want to believe Mother Jones and David Corn, I guess you can.
You’d have to be very predisposed to believe these unsavory characters to find truth in this odd story.
We’re supposed to believe that Romney was still involved in Bain in late 1999 to the extent that he was personally responsible for this company that disposed of things most of us don’t want to think about.
I guess if one is going to sanction abortion, including late-term abortion and including babies born alive after failed abortions ... which our current president does then one has to expect remains of aborted babies.
Obama is absolutely committed to abortion being legal under any circumstances.
Abortion leads to aborted babies. I don’t want to think about it, but I guess they have to be disposed of somehow.
Romney was never pro-abortion like Obama is. A wonderful doctor in my church, now dead, was terribly affected by seeing girls die by botched back alley abortions and therefore came to believe in legal abortion in the first trimester. I did not agree with him, but I might have at one time.
The same thing happened to Romney. But he has since changed his mind about that.
Romney, at least, says he is now pro-life. If you choose not to believe him, I guess you can, but I prefer someone who says he is pro-life to someone who is adamantly pro abortion and never denies it.
This is simply a hit piece with questionable sources by two of the nastiest, most radical people on earth: Mother Jones and David Corn. Well, Mother Jones doesn’t exist any more but she founded a pro-labor magazine.
I don’t think the article has enough credence to justify posting on a conservative site as Free Republic claims to be.
It does not matter any more.
If Obama is reelected, it means war. Romney is what he is.
Do what you must. I’m voting for Romney.
Didn't it come out when Mitt released some of his tax records that he still gets about $17 million a year from Bain? (Money taxed at the capital gains rate because Congress was successfully lobbied to classify "carried interest" that way, BTW.)
So Mitt left active management of Bain -- $17 mil a year doesn't sound like a clean break.
Of course, since the Bain entities are all privately held, they're not subject to the same reporting requirements as publicly traded companies . . .
You’ll have a heck of a time persuading Admin that anyone is “threatening” you. Step back from the keyboard.
Why would you possibly be so determined to link Romney to Bain after the time when he left.
We all know that big corporations like that sometimes continue to pay dividends and it is all very complicated.
Romney is rich. He got rich by being a good businessman and taking advantage of the free enterprise system.
Why would anyone resent that?
I might resent George Clooney being rich because he is a good looking actor, but even that is part of the free enterprise system.
Will someone please explain to me why some people are ardently pursuing any little issue that might hurt Romney?
Are you indulging in magical thinking that someone will descend from the sky to run against Obama?
I personally believe that either Romney or Obama will be elected.
I want Romney.
Let me remind you of Breitbart.
Only an idiot would imagine that Corn was the only person to have ever noticed this.
Now, about Bain heppin out stressed companies to get on their feet, I guess they sho'nuf did that with these guys, and they expanded!
You really ought to research things before you accuse me of buying off on Leftwingtard stories. But, that's probably not something you ever immediately think of is it. They got you in a box you can't get out of,.
http://www.stopstericycle.com/ This site has a bunch of material on stericycle. Might take a look at it. Or maybe you already know about it. I was thinking of tracking down all the members of the boards of companies who supply these guys and see who they contribute to.
LOL! Yes, that's how he tells it . . . of course, he lies a lot!
If you call Mother Jones research then, okay then.
Your research is sketchy and you’ve provided no new information.
If you don’t want to vote for Romney, then don’t.
But it would be nice if you stopped working for Obama.
You tell me he is a viable candidate. I’m on the bandwagon to get Barack Hussein Obama out of town and out of work. Any other bridges to burn, I will get to them when we are there.
Your Democrat-Independent won’t get us there. But maybe you voted twice for Pee-rot and gave us two cases of a Clinton presidency just to show us how principled you were.
If you help usher in a second term of Obammy. you must've been fer it all along.
I gather you are a big Mother Jones fan.
Hmmm, but you did respond...strange.
I love how you lecture me on an “ad hominem” attacks because I call you an Obama supporter (which you are), when you folks have no problem labeling those of us who are acting like adults and voting for Romney as: “Romneybots”, “RINO’s”, or GOP-e’s” So please spare us your phony outrage.
This is the left wing meme of the day, you will have “moderate” friends tell you about this and suggest a third party vote, because they know how much you care. Pah. The sophistries of the left disgust me!
Tell us how much better Romney is. I fail to discern the difference and Im usually pretty sharp on finding differences. They just arent there this time.Hey muawiyah/cliff tell us all about those union dues you paid that supported abortion candidates. You were Postal Service right?
