The liberal lionization of John Roberts is roaring through the media.
He is, after all, the man who saved Obamacare for a president who opposed his confirmation.
One moment he is the bête noire of the left, a right-wing legal hack who lied about being a neutral umpire, and the next he is a profile in courage, rising above petty partisanship to do the right thing.
Is this a classic case of what many on the right carp aboutthat conservatives are depicted as having grown and evolved only when they move to the left?
In some ways, sure. But the story is more complicated than that, turning on a justices nuanced view of his role and that of the high court.
And while some conservatives are angry at Robertsa few have even called him a traitorthe right-wing media have been remarkably restrained in reporting on the chief justices apostasy.
But make no mistake: much of the MSM is in gushing mode.

I wonder if that's the word that a historian, like Victor Davis Hanson, would use to describe the fall of the Roman Republic?
When a man who holds a great trust then deliberately and knowingly destroys what he was sworn to protect and defend is "nuanced," the corruption has gone mighty deep.
Swiss bank account???
No. It is STALINIST. George Orwell wrote about such fools. What we know of as "Orwellian nightmares" is life under Western Stalinism.
Revisionist history means never having to say "I'm sorry for what I said/did". Now he's a "wise Latina", er man in a black dress.
It's a corrupt decision based on outcome, not law. Total activism. Kick him off the bench along with the woman so wise she did not recuse herself from this decision.
Demand “no government exemptions” for this scam. legislators get the same crappy care as everyone else.
The only way to keep them “honest” and accountable to see it work.
I certainly would like to know who got to Justice Roberts.
His health continues to be a problem, and I wonder if he wanted to harvest some cash for retirement or for his family. I thought better of him, but nothing else makes any sense.
There’s an old song that touches on John G. Roberts, but I can’t recall the exact line: “It pains to me say that we’re not the people we claim to be.”
