FARMINGTON, Pa. (AP) -- U.S. Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts joked that he'll spend some time on an "impregnable island fortress" now that the court has ended a session that featured him casting the decisive vote to uphold President Barack Obama's health care law.

Think Chicago style Obama tactics.
I bet you can figure that out in the wink of an eye.
The Roberts children are adopted. Your comment I don’t like at all.
It’s bad taste to joke about such a monumental decision.
He looked promising when nominated, but has turned out to be a huge disappointment. Typical.
The GOP has a terrible record in picking justices. It’s sickening. The only reason I voted for some GOP presidential candidates was concern over the Supreme Court. Turns out that it is mostly an exercise in futility. Even if the GOP when, another damn progressive lands on on the bench.
Anyway, from now on I’ll always count Chief Judicial Legislator Roberts as a vote for the bad guys and against the Constitution, or what’s left of it.
Question is, were they LEGALLY adopted? Did someone in the ObamaGubmit threaten him with exposing this if he didn’t rule in favor of 0bamugabe?
Well that ain’t gonna happen NOW, genius.
LOL!
Why wait? The GOPe doesn't have a problem sending US to history's scrap heap.
Why else would they keep voting for a bigger and bigger, more and more powerful Federal Government, with more ABC agencies, each with ever more intrusive power, every time they have power?
They've been infected. The only thing they understand is the threat of losing their jobs, so the TEA party is the only thing that scares them.
Uncle Sam's last words: "F*** Y** JOHN ROBERTS.
And how we burned in the camps later, thinking: What would things have been like if every Security operative, when he went out at night to make an arrest, had been uncertain whether he would return alive and had to say good-bye to his family? Or if, during periods of mass arrests, as for example in Leningrad, when they arrested a quarter of the entire city, people had not simply sat there in their lairs, paling with terror at every bang of the downstairs door and at every step on the staircase, but had understood they had nothing left to lose and had boldly set up in the downstairs hall an ambush of half a dozen people with axes, hammers, pokers, or whatever else was at hand?... The Organs would very quickly have suffered a shortage of officers and transport and, notwithstanding all of Stalin's thirst, the cursed machine would have ground to a halt! If...if...We didn't love freedom enough. And even more we had no awareness of the real situation.... We purely and simply deserved everything that happened afterward. ― Aleksandr I. Solzhenitsyn
That's it in a nutshell.
Wow, I have the book. Just have to dig it out. That’s a great quote.
This is a function of the fact that the GOP has to worry about getting their justice confirmed by what is almost always a Democrat-controlled Senate.
This is why things won't change until we elect conservatives to a clear majority in the Senate. It's not enough to take back the White House and maintain a slim majority in the House. We need to get control of the Senate and maintain control for at least two or three decades to ensure that the SCOTUS is composed of people who will respect and defend the Constitution.
That paragraph you quoted is one of the best advertisements for the Second Amendment that I have ever read.
No, but the FFs expected it would if we quit fighting for what they fought and risked it all for to create.
We are a lot sicker now than when Pearl Harbor woke us up and "they" have us right where "they" want us.
I read a lot of it while visiting my parents many years ago, but it was so long I couldn’t finish it. I shoudl get one on Amazon. But I’m totally, totally broke.
Absolutely. I read “One Day in the Life of Ivan Denisovich” but didn’t have time to finish “Gulag”.
BTW my hub escaped from Eastern Europe during Communism. Lots of stories.
Thanks for filling in more of Solzhenitsyn’s quote.
He’s a powerful writer who places the reader into the gulags.
Every American patriot needs to read Solzhenitsyn in order to understand what Buckwheat has in store for us in his second term.
Obuma has alotted $100 billion to the IRS to set up a gestapo. I hope these IRS pricks won’t mind people taking their pictures as they swing from lampposts. These IRS a-holes have never been tested in combat. Most are wimpy leftists who would lose a barroom fight trying to sit on a barstool.
Cheers, FRiend
Wow, what a sense of humor. Too bad the joke is on the citizens of the USA and the Constitution.
Maybe, he won’t come back to the Supreme Court.
