Is there a possible Silver Lining for the States?

Is there a possible Silver Lining for the States, and by extension the, People?

Given that the Feds cannot withhold funding from the States for opting out of the Medicare provision in ObomaTax, has the precedence now been set that the States could now not have funds withheld for not following mandates contained within other laws pertaining to education, transportation, welfare, etc?

If so, would that not be a great way to push back against this oppressive govt?

Better yet, just vote out the “oppression” in Novmember. This would allow Congress to enact a number of measures to protect the Constitution from radical, anti-American tyranny. Along with a myriad of other measures that PROTECT THE AMERICAN PEOPLE (a unique idea, right?)

It is a nice idea, but I don't think it's real. All they have to do for the Roberts court is to add a step of indirection.

The argument for some future bill won't be that they are taking money away from some states, but that they are only giving money to other states. And John Roberts will find a way to make it work. Well, maybe it depends on what meds Roberts is on the at the time, but it would follow yesterdays opinion.

What yesterdays opinion proved is that reality and logic and law no longer matter. Politicians can be tyrants, and Roberts won't clean up the mess.

“Federalism”

I think the word is obamunism and it will, indeed, prohibit him from taking vindictive action against any state like he did with Arizona in refusing to help with any immigration issue.

Not likely is my read. Roberts distinguished the difference between feds withholding money to urge state participation in programs versus the "nuclear option" struck down in this case.

True. However, it may be a way to return a lot of power back to the States by way of the courts vs having to depend upon politicians, which doesn’t always work out to well, eh?
