If the AMA had any knowledge of economics and human behavior in response to fiscal incentives and disincentives, it would understand that the ACA will result in fewer people with insurance, not more.

The AMA has sold out the physicians it is supposed to represent, especially those in private practice, for decades.

It gains a good chunk of its revenue from a cozy monopolistic arrangement with the federal government, whereby it has a copyright on the Medicare coding numbers, which it sells to doctor's offices that require the codes to bill Medicare. (Of course, the Medicare codes are constantly revised so that the AMA can sell more.)

No wonder why the AMA loves big government control of the medical profession, and why ever smaller percentages of American physicians pay membership dues to them.
