As a guy who's been unemployed for a few months, I've made a habit of looking for silver linings in the darkness. Folks, there is some good news to this monstrosity: now Romney's path to the White House is pretty much assured.
Up until today, Obama had one issue that was haunting him: the economy. He could blame the GOP for not doing being "bipartisan"...a charge that has always made me nauseous. But as of today, Obama's got to defend a policy that the majority of American people don't like. And he can't blame the Republicans for this - they didn't vote for it.
Guess what? Obama just raised taxes on the middle class. How did that work out for George H. Bush? The Democrats, as we all know, are not the party of the middle class. The debt now exceeds the GDP. The higher it goes, the greater pressures there will be to raise taxes on the middle class.
Romney can point out that with another four years of Obama, more taxes will be coming. Does anyone doubt that this administration will raise taxes on energy through cap and trade? And given this man's fondness for issuing executive orders, why let a little bump in the road like Congress get in the way of what he wants?
Now, like many of you, Mitt Romney was not my first choice. I hated Romneycare. On the other hand, there is a difference between what a state can do, and what the federal government can do - it's clearly explained in the Constitution. And I do think Romney has been clear on this point: that the current FCA is an overreach of federal power. Romney has vowed to repeal this - and I think with a Senate majority, he can do so, just like the Democrats did when they forced this on the American people.
Just like yesterday’s postings of “Obamacare is dead - bank on it”???
Or “Sarah Palin is definitely definitely running - bank on it!!”
Don't forget the Unions and the TSA not to mention others. Add the millions of brain dead Americans and not much left.
What’s next??? Obama can force you to buy an electric car??
I am sorry you are unemployed. You will soon have lots more company and the downward spiral will tighten, steepen and accelerate.
I think you are guilty of wishful thinking.
I don’t see much hope for the future at all here.
IIRC, Romney said if elected he would give every state a waiver from Obamacare.
That's like asking, what would you rather get bit by, a rabid bat or a rabid Great Dane?
Romney doesn’t have the power to repeal. Congress does and he will go along. We need to elect a GOP House and Senate with a firm majority. Then use the nuclear option in the Senate to power the repeal.
I think Roberts returned the decision to the people..via the vote to control our own destiny.

I respectfully disagree.
While Obama not being reelected is a “good” thing, Romney being elected is a “bad” thing. We are fried either way.
Besides, Romney is all talk. He won’t do jack to get rid of Obamacare. Also, it is sophistry to say a “state” can trample an individual’s rights, but not a central government. Trampling of rights is a violation...regardless of the level of government doing it.
Oh for a really good third party candidate that could save the GOP from itself!
Look for a 20% (minimum) loss (2,500 or more points) over the next 30 days!
There is also a possible platinum lining as well (IMO): the entire Bush dynasty may now metaphorically have their portraits flipped over to face the wall in perpetuity.
Oh don’t you bet on it.....The lunch room was lite up with “obama said this wasn’t a tax” but SCOTUS says it is...
Pissed off obamabots are mad that HE lied to them. It’s not going down well. I laughed silently at the fools.
I don't give a crap about some partisan political advantage. The Supreme Court today made you a serf, a slave. As long as that stands, an election merely chooses which taskmaster you prefer.
We the people own this country. Elections are our voice. The next election in November will be the only way to undo all this president/congress has done. The Supreme Court will not do our job for us. We must do the work ourselves.
We either elect people who enact the will of the people, or we live in tyranny. As of now, we have tyranny.
Easy, he says "It was the state of Massachusetts choice, the people of the state have the sovereign right to make that decision. The Federal government, on the other hand does not have that right to decide "FOR" the people. What else can they decide is "FOR" your best interests and constitutional? Gun haters, the US Constitution states that Defense is the responsibility of the Federal government. The SC ruling, today, just laid the ground work for some future government to say "It is in the best interests of national defense for everyone to have a gun. You don't have to buy one; if you don't though, we will tax you. The same can be said for going to a church, of any type. It is in the general welfare of the people that they be happy. Since people of faith tend to be more happy and content, everyone has to now attend some sort of church/religious service; if you don't, you will be taxed."
However, the PUBLIC is clearly against Obamacare and the Mandate, and against most of the Obama agenda.
So?
Romney will do what is best for Romney, and that means that Romney will, largely, support the Conservative agenda.
Obama does NOT have his finger in the wind.
Obama will always be a radical Marxist, no matter what.
The Electorate will be bombarded with, “Romney will take away your Health Care” for two months before the Election.
The Rats will ride this like a surfer rides a wave.
Silver lining? More like pewter, graphite, or phrryite.
So tell us how Romney convinces swing voters that he would be better in fighting overweening mandates, given his history with promoting such himself?
Of course Romney has credibility. He’s running on limiting the expansion of federal power.
