WASHINGTON -- The Supreme Court led by Chief Justice John G. Roberts Jr. upheld the heart of President Obama's healthcare law Thursday, ruling that the government may impose tax penalties on those who do not have health insurance. The decision came on a 5-4 vote, with the court's four liberal justices joining with the chief justice.

A Kaganless decision would have been 4-4 which would have let Obamacare live, but would be devoid of precedential value — so this is worse. In order to accommodate the Pom Pom Girl he just joined her in buggering the Constitution, not just talking dirty to it.
To hell with all these commies! I will never buy healthcare insurance and never pay their stinking tax.>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Ditto in spades.I could see it coming and emmigrated the country. Scalia must be very upset, I feel for the guy.
I just turned my flag on its 20 foot pole upside down. And then for good measure, I ran up my Gadsen as well!
I heard that the House Republicans have scheduled a vote to repeal Obamacare in a few weeks. They'll pass repeal all right, but of course it won't fly in the 'Rat Senate now. Still, it's good politics looking forward to November, because a decisive majority of the electorate supports repeal.
I have a question, if this is a tax, how can all of Obama’s union exemptions be legal. Can they simply exempt certain groups from taxes?

Excellent question; bringing it before the court will be tricky (issues of standing).
Are you going off the grid?
Those who have called him a traitor here have a key to what needs to be done next.
In the case of Kagan, we need to put pressure on Congress to begin impeachment proceedings against her for her conflict of interest. But I don’t know that this can be done with Roberts.
Yes, Roberts is either a traitor or was forced to do this by ertain powers to do this. In either case, he doesn’t have the shame or decency to step down. Since there is no legitimacy to the law in this country, we need to be like the left and harass him without until he feels forced to step down. Remember the incivil crap the left did to Bush? That kind of stuff and more!
We need to badmouth him everywhere we are. We need insulting bumper stickers that demand his resignation. We need to shout at our Congressmen for his removal! We need protests and strikes that demand he step down. We need wanted posters calling for his prosecution and execution for Treason! We need movies TV shows and comic books telling stories discussing his assassination. We need to harass his relatives. We need to harass anyone who sticks up for him. We need to have someone poop on his car! His name needs to be made a dirty word similar to that of Benedict Arnold for all true Americans in this country. We must constantly think of new ways to demean and harass him and his supporters. And we must never stop!
I sure hope & pray that you’re right.
We choose out krytarchs without questioning their beliefs. Precedent and form killed the Constitution years ago, but co-opting the protections from demagogic rule.
Never another Bush in elected office--ever.
What's that got to do with who appointed him and how he ended up ruling when he adjudicated?
Someone is bringing up this issue on Rush, right now.
Roberts has been one of the most disappointing justices in recent memory. Shame on George W. Bush.
I just turned my flag on its 20 foot pole upside down.
Thanks for reminding me. Just did mine.

You have brought up something that is quite correct and something I didn’t think of in my immediate disappointment on the ruling. This whole thing has been exposed as a tax when Obama said it wasn’t. People somehow thought this was “free.” Obama is so arrogant he’s patting himself on the back right now but I think this will all come back to bite him. I would think that the young kids who voted for him for “free” healthcare are going to be in for a shock when they get taxed on it.
Interesting POV. ***mulling***
Darn, I missed it. Net connection blinking on-&-off.
Just about 100% of Freepers were saying the same things at the time.
