I'm curious: with what may be our country's most important Supreme Court decision due tomorrow, what do all you fellow Freepers see as our collective, national future - and your personal future - if ObamaCare is left intact?
If Obamacare stands, the government will be free to interfer in every aspect of our lives. Health stems from what we eat, what we drink, where we live, where we work, how we exercise, what we think (mental heaalth), if we smoke, etc.
If it stands, America the Free is over.
I type with fists and The characters are worn the heck off.
That makes for PEBKAU.
Calling for Constitutional Conventions is completely crazy and insane.
It won’t work in our favor at all.
Prudence, indeed, will dictate
Another option comes to mind too.
Since citizens have more rights and less restrictions than do sworn officers of the law, why not have massive Citizens Arrests of ANYONE they suspect of breaking our Sacred Federal Immigration Laws?
What would Wyatt Earp do?
Congress hasn’t funded anything in years. obama and Reid simply write checks.
lol!
What Texas should do is to Petition the Federal Government to cede Texas back to Mexico. I think maybe Nevada, Arizona and Utah should join in the request. Then if it were to actually happen Texans and other patriotic Americans could start a Civil War and declare their independence from Mexico and then re-fight the Texas war of independence and the Mexican American war and start a new country and adopt the Original constitution of the US and maybe then we might have a Constitutional Republic.
Washington effectively wants to effectively give Texas and Arizona (and every other flyover Red State) back to Mexico so let's challenge them to do it.
A 38 state plurality will not be found for any screaming liberal item. Not one.
Good point.
"We can't depend on the Supreme Court to do the right thing, though it can occasionally be an important ally in the struggle to restore the Constitution, the rule of law and the rights of the individual. The ball is not in their court, it is in ours."
and...
"Many of the modern violations of our rights went through this process, losing a Supreme Court decision and then finding another way through the door. Once the policy apparatus has agreed on something, the mere objection that it is against the law will not halt them for long. The only way to stop the machine is to break the machine. To tear out its levers and gears, to fill it with sand, spill out its oil and turn it to grind uselessly facing a wall."
You can figure out the rest...
...for someone else.
I was I could say you're wrong. But I cannot.
Well thought out. The only problem being everyone with any smarts would leave California and overburden other more desirable regions. Me for one! Then we’d end up with good regions which would become overpopulated, and bad regions which would become modern day badlands??? We’d end up with half a dozen borders, passports, etc.
I suppose many will go Galt and stop feeding the beast.
That's where the rubicon was crossed and the envelope's been pushed ever since.
Can't be picking and choosing which parts of the Constitution are meaningless because when we do someone will eventually pick one part we hold dearly and consider that meaningless too.
In the beginning I never really thought Obama was born outside of the country or that he was hiding anything regarding his eligibility. I figured he wanted to prove to America that the Constitution no longer matters. And that he has done.
After having watched this man govern, I have concluded he cannot be a real American.
Slavery.
Lots of old denizens and heavy hitters checking it! Thanks for all your comments so far.
OK-file this under “just kidding” but I suggest we take a page from the jihadis’ book and start chopping heads.
