Mitt Romney's support is up in Arizona following the U.S. Supreme Court decision overturning several provisions of the state's law cracking down on illegal immigration and the Obama administration's announcement that it will not process additional illegals arrested there.
A new Rasmussen Reports telephone survey of Likely Voters in Arizona shows Romney with 54% support to President Obama's 41%. Three percent (3%) prefer some other candidate, while two percent (2%) remain undecided.

Unexpected. /s Let’s hope AZ can be counted on in 2012.
Yes except Minnesota Red, Hawaii Blue
Romney's going to disappoint just saying
Putting my tin foil “conspiratorial” hat on for a moment, with this government and all the corruption and true conspiracy theories happening....it crosses my mind, that maybe the puppet is TRYING to muck things up so Romney gets in. I mean, the GOP-E did push Romney on us, as our “only electable” candidate against Obama. So, maybe they want him in, so he’ll finish the job (properly) for the Progressive NWO elites? You have to think that all the crap Obama has pulled, those elites HAVE to be tired and pissed that he’s done so much to wake us all up...SO FAST.
But maybe not. Maybe after all, since he is VERY arrogant and the most narcissistic egomaniac I’ve ever witnessed in my lifetime, it could very well be he’s just doing what he’s always done.....made it about HIM, irregardless of the consequences.
I just don’t know what to think anymore. Who is behind who’s intentions? Why does Obama do the things he does...? For himself? For the elite puppet masters (ie Soros, Rockefellers, Rothschilds, et al)? Is Romney part of their plan now?
So many conspiracies....so little time left. Not sure what to believe anymore.
Polls can vary widely based on:
Sample size
Likely, Registered, Eligible
Questions asked
Phrasing
Randomness
Weighting
So much else down to time of day.
We need an Arizona summer. They should all take to the streets in protest.
Thanks for the reply. I understand it all except “weighting”. Does this mean pollsters actually ask certain groups to get a desired response?
Also- does anyone know which polls are the most accurate at election time? I enjoy Rasmussen analysis but don’t know of they are considered more accurate.
Finally- it seems to me that MSNBC and others ALWAYS skew polls to fit their hopes rather than an actual snapshot of the electorate. Pathetic.
Actually, I agree! Romney is going to be a non Republican or at the least a non Conservative. Compared to Obama, he will be the savior though! That is a shame during this Tea Party time, but anyone is better than Obama.
I do hope that he is malleable though and will take some Conservative ideas to heart. If not, there is always 2016 to correct the issue. Too bad that both can’t happen at the same time but with the far left agenda, anything right of Obama will be appreciated. I do fear a softening of the illegal immigrant issue though since it has become such a battle for votes - not right or wrong, just about political agendas...too bad for America there...
“Arizona never has to be worried about in a Presidential race for Republicans”
Arizona is now considered a swing state because of the huge influx of Hispanics.
In a survey, certain groups have a greater weight based on their numbers in a population. If 2 out of 3 people are peanut butter eaters, then it’s not fair to ask America’s opinion of peanut butter sandwiches but only include in the results those who hate peanut butter.
You can ask a thousand people who hate peanut butter if they like PBJ’s, and you’ll get what predetermined picture of love for PBJ’s in America?
Let’s say that you’re randomly calling, though, and you get a 1000 responses and one half of those who were willing to respond were peanut butter haters. To find out a true picture of PBJ lovers in America, you’d have to make sure 2/3 of the sample were peanut butter eaters.
Just because you’re a PB eater doesn’t mean you’re a PBJ lover.
Similarly, if you know that 1/3 of Americans claim to be Republican voters, then it’s not going to produce accurate results to ask an opinion of Obama in a survey with only 1/10 of the respondents claiming to be republican.
Amy Klobuchar, Al Franken, Kieth Ellison, Mark Dayton, in 2000, minorities made up 10.6 percent of the populationfrom and in 2010 minorities accounted for more than 80 percent of the state's growth and now make up about one of every seven state residents, farmers dependent upon government subsidies, taxpayers funding for Minnesota teachers to attend 'White Privilege' conference, the University of Minnesota-Duluth (UMD) supporting an ad campaign aimed toward reaching racial justice through raising awareness about white privilege in society and last but not least . . . the Minneapolis RED Star/Tribune.
Need I say more?
True... for now. However, Americans' attention spans are notoriously short. Romney and the Republicans have to continually remind them of that fact.
Because history is the only frame of reference. MN last voted GOP in '72 and has been deep blue ever since.
You have to “look under the hood” so to speak .... get into the sampling data. Often, you will find polls are weighted toward Democrats (they sample more Dems) .... surprise!/NOT. Anyway, Ed Morrissey on Hot Air is really good at digging out the data on polls and explaining what is what .... here is a recent example:

Hope this helps.
“Interesting. Obama is acting like he doesnt care what the outcome of the election will be so . . .”
It will just be a changing of the globalist guard. Hussein probably wants to go on speaking tours like Clinton did, and would rather get some UN gig. Meanwhile, the powers that be will move ahead with the same agendas and many conservatives will go back to sleep.
A fair statement.
“....so Romney is on track to outperform McCain in McCains home state.”
The credit (or blame) lies with Obama, not Romney.....ABO is the rule of this election cycle. Romney is the default receipant of Obama’s unpopularity.
My interest lies solely in Down-ticket Congressional races. Elect every Conservative into Congress we can.
Agreed. Also keep in mind obummer has an uncanny ability right now to be on the wrong side of everything. At this point in the campaign, that will stick more than it did in the primary season.
Looks like Air Force Juan won’t land in Arizona this year.
A liberal H.S. classmate of mine lives in Arizona now and keeps claiming that Hispanics are all gonna vote RAT in droves and the state is “in play” for Obama. I told him he’s wrong but he’s a RAT official in Arizona now so I hope convinces Obama to pour plenty of money down the drain trying to win AZ (especially with Obama struggling to win Gore/Kerry states like Michigan, Wisconsin, etc. ). It would be hilarious if Romney does better than McCain in AZ on election day.
