The new look still takes its cue from the kitchen: pickle green and mustard yellow polo shirts at the counter. Mustard-colored skinny ties and belts for managers. Lettuce green pants for customer service assistants. But the condiments cues are the only reminder of the old get-ups.
We've taken some of the Americanism out of the uniforms," the British-born Hemingway told Yahoo! Shine in an interview Monday, just a few weeks before the uniforms are rolled out at four Olympic park restaurants in London.

The rags I use to mop up the grease spots in my garage look better that some of those duds.
The new uniforms:
Not an improvement.
How often do you think they will wash those greasy nasty ties?
I wonder if we could find ANYONE in the country who has predicated their fast food choice based on the unis worn by the staff?
Which makes me wonder why nobody has tried a Hooter’s motif for fast food? Maybe the splashing grease is too dangerous for the low cut top and short shorts?
Plain? Have they De-Americanized the meaning of the word?
I've certainly come close when I see those puke-green blouses worn by Jack-in-the-Box employees.
LOL
JIB has just started ops here in Indianapolis but I haven’t been to one locally.
Still hoping against hope that we’ll someday get InNOut Burger, but Culver’s is a pretty darn good substitute.
My uncle bought some liquid car polish and tried it out for the first time. Forever after, he called its color “baby poop.”
“Marty—I’ve made some changes to the amp.”
“De-Americanised?” They’ve got to be kidding. It’s true-blue American Goodwill dropoff bin, circa 1978.
If people want to eat that disgusting garbage then more power to them. Just don’t expect me to pay their Medicaid / Medicare bills for doing so and don’t expect my tax dollars to subsidize any element of that business.
“They seem to think that when we go out, we want to eat the cheapest that they can possibly manufacture instead of food of the same quality we make at home. “
In my case, they’re right. I normally get a double cheeseburger off the value menu with some water, and am on my way for $1.50.
Sometimes less.
If I want good food, I eat at home or go to a real restaurant. McDonalds & Burger Sling for fast & cheap. Mostly cheap.
And no, I had no idea how they are currently dressed at McDonald or any other fast food joint. If I go inside, I care more about clean tables and bathrooms.
Wow, they make you wear an AFRO?
That’s rad man.
Just wait til that tie lands in the deep fryer
once or twice.
burgers UP Please.
Haha, I didn’t last long.
I don’t understand what is more or less American about either set of uniforms. Asians would likely see the set with ties as more American but then we are talking European metrosexual gay aren’t we?
LOL! Designers as a group try desperately to do something "new" that no one else is doing. This time, they stepped in it! No one else is using this color because it is inherently yucky, per your illustration above. My design pals call it "baby's first summer."
LOL!
Next time I drive thru to get some coffee, I will drink a toast to the diaper-changers of the Caribbean, and elsewhere. And I will try not to look much at the clerk.
p.s. -- Yo, McDonalds, you might think twice about having your female employees in pencil skirts... most of them are not going to "flatter" the look, get what I'm sayin'?
Mustard yellow-brown is my absolute least favorite color.
Hmmmm
.Ill surmise you were not a San Diego Padres fan!! ;)
Hah! Those pictures are awful! I grew up in in San Diego, so I saw my share of Padre brown, but I don’t remember the glaring gold as much. Probably because where I sat at games, up in the nosebleed section, you can’t see it as much.
I generally like Jack-in-the-Box notwithstanding those puke-up shirts; for breakfast I can get two breakfast Jacks, hash browns and medium drink for under $5. This is a splurge over my usual $3.67 Burger King breakfast but try to hit it at least once a week.
