2. Scalia did something rare and unusual today. He read his dissent on the AZ law. I believe he did this not so much because he was not pleased with the outcome of the AZ law but more so because he needed to vent some steam because he knows that obamacare was upheld. He's not a good poker player.
3. Today, All justices voted to uphold the part of SB1070 that ALL LIBERALS HATED. No one expected a unanimous decision on this part of the law. NO ONE! It doesn't make sense...unless you put it with the other pieces. I believe the very liberal justices voted for this for two reasons a. It will give them some cover and a leg to stand on when they claim to be fair and balanced and that they can claim to give each and every decision equal consideration. b. This was a bone to throw the conservatives off the trail because they were fully aware that 1070 would be immediately negated by obamas order to DHS to ignore the law. A win win. We get to say we got what we wanted but they actually got what they wanted. Besides, how did obama know to have the order ready within minutes.
4. The arguments. We will all agree that the arguments phase of SB1070 and obamacare went very well. Even the liberal justices tore into the govt arguements in a way with made every conservative high five. I now believe that was a red herring and we are being set up for a BIG FALL.
I think there is a mole on the court that has been coordinating with the administration. I believe that obamas "secret" behavior about expecting the mandate to get overturned is a red herring. And as we all know, obama is a terrible poker player, quote "Don't call my bluff"
I hope I'm wrong but I think we're being played like a fiddle.
Can anyone convince me otherwise.
I fear you may be right.
There were four items ruled on with immigration, dems got 3 of 4. Softens the blow coming this week to knock down the individual mandate. Whether they kill the entire thing is another deal.
The SC has rarely, if ever , denied power to DC.
They might as well uphold it. Today the King issued a big “f**k you” to the SCOTUS for upholding just part of AZ,s immigration law. He will do the same if they vote against obamacare.
If you wear yourself out in your head with it, you are giving the left space rent-free.
Take a deep breath and wait. You could also mow my yard and weed the garden.

I think you're right.
All of it? I think that at the least, the individual mandate will be struck down.
A roly poly mole, that’s for sure!
A roly poly mole, that’s for sure!
I am not believing that one moment.
Thank you, Captain Bringdown.

(I personally have no idea at all. Flip a coin. It could go either way.)
Why bother? We will know in 60 hours, give or take a couple of minutes.
“Ginsberg’s comment the other day about people who know aren’t talking and people who talk don’t know. She had a huge grin seemed pretty upbeat. Too upbeat to hide her feelings in fact. She’s not a good poker player.”
I also heard that Justice Kennedy is wearing the same underwear all week. From what I hear that usually means he votes to uphold. We’re doomed!
Judges all the way from small claims court to the Supreme Court have an instinctive desire to split the baby. We saw that today with the AZ decision. I think we’ll see the mandate being tossed, but not the entire law. Then, of course, the question becomes whether the law can stand as a practical matter without the mandate. They will leave it up to Congress to sort that out.
No, this court will be the one that finally finds something important the commerce clause doesn’t allow the feds to do!
What a waste of paper the rest of the Constitution has become: the commerce clause and the 14th Amendment uber alles...
