LOL !
The first country to seriously jump on the allow-and-tax bandwagon will reap a whirlwind of controversy and also a cornucopia of taxes. All eyes are on Uruguay now.
Sounds like a good start.
*Ping* !
Finally, we might get a chance to see for ourselves what will really happen if it’s legalised.
Outbreaks of rationality are always something to worry about.
Look for Obozo to suddenly have a need to make a Latin American Tour to ‘shore up our sagging relations’ with Uruguay...........
It was legal in the USA until about 1937.
What is this 75 million number? That is nothing.
Yes, I know. I don’t think it was taxed then, was it?
I guess the $75M is what the gov projected revenue will be.
“Uruguay is distinguished by its high literacy rate, large urban middle class, and relatively even income distribution.”
Apparently Uruguayans aren’t dummies.
If Uruguay goes through with this, they are going to make a killing in tax revenue. Pot has problems, but it’s very arguable whether or not the problems caused by trying to ban it are worse. Maybe Uruguay will get a lot of “pot vacationers” but seriously, unless that was deliberately for a one time lark, said vacationers have to disappoint themselves by returning home sometime.
It’s a proven fact that long-term marijuana use decays the brain.
No, it was not taxed.
So you thing the 75 million is projected tax revenue not total revenue? That makes sense.

In Europe, thousands of places will not take U.S. $ 50 bills thanks to Bernanke's corrupt banking policies.

Just a guess, there wasn’t much info in the article.
As will sufficient alcohol. And drinking Drano is another way to say goodbye to this cruel world. How hard do we have to strive for the easily corrupted hand of government to save people from themselves?
So does alcohol.
What’s your excuse? Is it the bottle or the junk food?
I would ask for a citation but we both know you dont have one.
Non sequitur, are you formerly British or Aussie?
...and alcohol helps your brain?
