I can remember when Bush got in for the second time, just feeling like so much of the problem about the way that politics go here is that people are improperly informed. That they didnt know that they had been lied to, or they didnt understand exactly to what extent they had been, and they still thought that there were weapons of mass destruction. And that was just crazy to me that people could be so under-informed. I do think that theres a difference in America to where Im from. Theres so much wrong with England, but I think people are informed in general. Im going to make a huge sweeping statement, but you just get the news much more [in England]. Listening to radio stations that play pop music all day and all night, the news will come on every two hours, foreign news too. Its part of your daily routine, being informed about whats going on in the world. Whether you like it or not, you cant really escape it. I dont think the same is true here, and television broadcast news especially seems to me to be a pretty dicey area. You cant rely on getting the facts, or getting them presented in a way that is actually objective and makes sense and puts people in a position where they can make informed decisions about who to vote for.

Another pampered twit who feels the need to enlighten the rest of us. Bleah and feh!
BTW, we may be uninformed, but Mortimer sure does like President Bush’s policy about inheritance tax:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Emily_Mortimer#Personal_life
“Mortimer naturalised as an American citizen for “cynical reasons” in order to avoid paying inheritance tax in the event of anything happening to her husband.”
Hypocrisy, thy name is liberal.
Just ask anyone in the UK how their laws and Parliament mesh with the laws and parliament of the EU and you will see how informed the UK is. /S
Basic premise is correct. Americans ARE woefully ignorant of the news and of history.
But NOT in the sense it is insinuated here. Americans are woefully ignorant because they are spoon fed a distillate of politically correct garbage by most of the mainstream media.
So the media this individual claims to represent is the main source of that ignorance.
I agree completely, but probably not in the way which the author intended. If you look at how completely Fast & Furious has been buried, if you look at how they are constantly surprised by bad economic news and how they'll spend five minutes on Michelle Obama planting some peas instead of any real news, the MSM has been working overtime to keep the American people ignorant.
Actual quote from the article:
“I got completely besotted by the idea of anarchy as the way that we should all live our lives and I was ready to kind of go fight for my belief, but then I got to university and did lots of plays and kind of forgot about that.”
You can’t make this stuff up...
The British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) got it wrong in its reporting of the massacre of the Fogel family by Arab terrorists in the Jewish community of Itamar, the broadcaster's outgoing director-general admitted at a parliamentary committee hearing.
The BBCs Mark Thompson acquiesced on June 19 while being questioned by Conservative member of parliament Louise Mensch, the London Jewish Chronicle reported.
In complaining about the insufficient coverage of the event on BBC radio and television programs, the newspaper reported that Mensch said, I only found out, after the event, from an American blog, called Dead Jews is no news, and the more I went into it, the more shocked I was.
There was a feeling that the BBC just didnt care and that if a settler had opened the home of a Palestinian family, slit the throat of their children, that the BBC would have covered that, Mensch asserted.
She babbled about loving Anarchy and Anarchists earlier in the interview. That was enough to know where she was coming from.
Why is it that the "anarchists" always seem to be the ones screaming for more government?
“Im going to make a huge sweeping statement, but you just get the news much more [in England]. “
Well, you do get the news much more FROM England. Here’s some stories that our MSM wouldn’t touch with a 10 foot pole...
“This Tea Party is presented on the television as the viable alternative instead of like a lunatic fringe.”Lunatic fringe”?I think Ms. Mortimer has things bass ackwards.Typical idiotic statement from a typical libtard with the intellectual capacity of a head of lettuce.
People pick up on catch phrases or buzz words because that's all they have time for (they think).
“Newsroom” is going down just based on reviews — by Mushroom Head’s friends! But nice two-for-one deal to make sure this ditz doesn’t get any significant work again. Maybe she can do a Schticky commercial with Vince...
Looks like a couple of fried eggs tacked to a fencepost
In defence of comrade commissar Sorkin and comrade political commissar Mortimer, I d like to remind Tea Party neo-kulaks Kkkapitalist running dogs of penalty that eagerly awaits them for refusing to be informed by approved organs of Party propa.. Oops, information.
Failure to become informed, will result in confinement into Dan Rathertellthetruth memorial correctional clinic.
Viva La Revolution for Common Good.
Most likely some kind of mandatory indoctrination.
PC classes on the weekend?Just think what would happen if the productive members of society were locked up.No more tax revenue for the gov to redistribute to the “oppressed”?Once those monthly cks stopped....anarchy.Later:)
Wow, gravity’s been extra rough on this chick. That’s where a normal woman’s boobs would be located if she stood on Jupiter.
She is right, Americans are dangerously misinformed.......That’s why 0bama won.
