The Supreme Court is expected to rule on the constitutionality of President Barack Obama's health care law within the next week, and House Speaker John Boehner has issued a pre-emptive warning to fellow House Republicans if parts of the law are struck down: Forget about celebrating.
In a memo sent to his entire caucus Friday, Boehner warned members not to gloat over what most Republicans would see as a victory.
"[I]f the Court strikes down all or part of the president's health care law, there will be no spiking of the ball," Boehner wrote in the memo. "Republicans are focused on the economyand under President Obama's policies, our economy is struggling. We will not celebrate at a time when millions of our fellow Americans remain out of work, the national debt has exceeded the size of our nation's economy, health costs continue to rise, and small businesses are struggling to hire."

SAME HERE!
I might even donate to a RAT if that's all that's running against "Bend Over Boehner."
Boner is a new word for A-Whole! What idiot points is he expecting to secure, and from whom? I almost wish a Democrat would kick his azz in November just so we could get rid of him. I would gladly give up one lousy Rep seat to get rid of this good for nothing establishment hack.
You know what....I feel the same way. In fact, I would like to see a tea party type run as an Independent in Nov against this POS.
Here you go, John:

For a look at how the rest of us would feel.
After scoring a touchdown, the scoring player may slam the ball violently to the ground in celebration. This is also known as ‘spiking the ball’ and was started back in the 1960s by a receiver for the New York Giants named Homer Jones as a way to celebrate scoring a touchdown.
Screw you Boehner! Who do you think you are? John McCain?
If a Congressman really believes that overturning the bill will provide benefits Americans in terms of jobs and money, then how is it gloating? This isn’t a football game. This statement by Boehner is extremely revealing on many levels. He worries about what liberals think, he apparently doesn’t really believe defeating the bill is good for Americans and he thinks all of this is some sort of “game”.
Not only should our side be expressing happiness that it gets defeated our side should go further and demand that we throw out of office anyone that was responsible for such a mess.
This isn’t about winning and losing. This is about American jobs, money and lives.
How and what in the world got to do with msm propaganda?
Boehner is an idiot. The Democrats stock-in-trade is distorting the meaning of the Constitution in order to enable them to use the power of the federal government to buy votes. That's all there is to their little game. Now how are we supposed to educate people otherwise if our side (presuming the Republicans still represent our side) refuses to talk about it?"
THIS.
That dragon looks completely demented. She really should be put away somewhere.
Thank you.
I like Speaker Boehner, but I do plan on doing some spiking.
See post 52.
Done (usually) after a touchdown.
Also to be fair to Boehner, I’m assuming he’s addressing his fellow elected Representatives. Not the FReepers and John Q. Public.
It may be the best tactic. If we conservatives have the “We’re the grownups in the room” position, it would probably be to our advantage.
Boner Boehner! What a cowardly prick. Yah Boner, let's leave the celebrating to the RAT bastard socialist commie DemoRATs & the commie pig-in-chief, 0dumb0! They threaten when they're behind and gloat when their ahead.... and yet Repubs are "commanded" by our illustrious leader to remain silent in a victory for the U.S. Constitution.Excellent post, rcrngroup. Excellent, excellent post. So well said!Screw you Boehner! Who do you think you are? John McCain?
As a Majority Leader, Boehner's statements are generally ignored by the MSM, if they are not misconstrued.
Good post. Democrats are portrayed in the media as they want to be portrayed. Republicans are always portrayed by the media as Democrats and the media want them to be portrayed, so they have to be more careful how they are represented and percieved.
I think people make too much of Boehner's memo. Celebrate what you want how you want if you want to. But the leadership has to put a damper on excesses. It's just a word to the wise, not a ban on anything.
Pretty flimsy reasonunless youre a closet Dem, of course.
Or unless one happens to be an actual Conservative. And let’s face it, nobody defending boner is a Conservative.
Dog’s right. boner is a complete limpdicked assdrip. Conservatives need to vote Conservative, not GOPe.
****************************************************************
You do realize that someone who says “why I don’t vote for Republicans anymore” is, by definition, saying he/she will not vote for any conservative if that conservative happens to be a Republican. And, guess what, we have lots of conservative Republicans.
And, P.S., who exactly is defending Boehner?

Hard to forget, hard to watch.
Hate to agree with Boener but this is a good move.
People here and throughout the country can and will still celebrate. Just not House Republicans.
