A New York bus monitor who was berated and bullied by a group of middle school students has received more than $200,000 in online donations.
Karen Klein, 68, is seen in a 10-minute viral video attempting to ignore the verbal attacks by students on a bus operated by the Greece Central School District, near Rochester, N.Y. Children on the bus hurl repeated insults and threats at the grandmother, calling her fat and at one point suggesting that her children commit suicide.
But donations have since poured in for the grandmother in hopes that shell take a vacation of a lifetime, according to fundraising site indiegogo.com. As of midday Thursday, a total of $201,925 had been received for Klein and the video had been viewed on YouTube more than 1.6 million times.

Their parents must be so proud.
I can take on 20 5 year olds.
Shouldn't be long before the OWS people badger her for money for their worthless cause.
Of course they're untouchable! And they know it... They also know mommy and daddy will tell the mean authorities to stuff it.
Bah! Let 'em tell it to the judge.
I teach those types of kids. The "little darlings" tried to set fire to the bus once. Well, more than once, but it almost worked once.
Are lumps of coal being sent to the bratty ‘children’?
Mistake. They NEED to be punished. They should be slapped across the mouth just for the language they were using.
Ummm, democrats are on the side of the teenagers... the suck-up press - doting court eunuchs of the MSM - will NOT choose to cover something that makes one of their favored groups look bad. Watch and you'll see - this won't be run in any newspaper...
Bullsh*t. He's appalled the kids were stupid enough to put this up on YouTube where it winds up embarrassing Dad in front of the whole country.
they need to do HARD labor, and give all the money they earn for a year to that woman...after their butts have been whipped raw. In the meantime, Karen needs to take some serious martial arts training and get back on that bus!
They hear it from their parents...if I am outside in Red Hampshire working in the garden; I will hear the 'f' word or 'm-f'er' anywhere from 10 to 100 times per DAY in a residential neighborhood...kids and adults, mixed company. Interesting to note that during the ten years I lived in Tennessee, I only heard the 'f' word ONCE. Obviously, a better class of people than the elite snobs of the northeast.
Me too. As of yesterday $250,000 was raised for her - soon she can get out of that hell. To think an elderly person has to work for $15,000 a year at a job that she has no authority in and deal with the products of a culture of disgusting moral and cultural values. These kids deserve serve punishment to insure their crappy ways never spill out on Innocent people again.
Me too. I was raised to respect my elders and people in general - my whole town was raised that way. Priests, nuns, parents other kids would have let those brats know what that kind of behavior brings and they would have been ostracized from everyone.
I gave a meager amount (funds are tight) and I haven't even watched the video. Just reading the comments on it is all I need to know. If I were to watch it I'm sure I would foul my mood more intensly than I am prepared to tolerate.
I’d hope he’s appalled. And embarrassed and ashamed.
As for his son suffering enough? Those sound like the words of a “father” who believes his son is now a victim and needs no further discipline over the matter.
They already are.
“I hope she gets enough donations to retire from that garbage heap of future humanity that rides that bus.”
The criminal kids were taunting her because she’s poor. I have a feeling that by this time next week her net worth will be more than these kids’ parents’ savings. At least there’s that.
Do they still perform lobotomies? These kids would be good candidates.
From what I've read, this is what happens when children are sexualized too early. They become sociopathic/psychopathic. No concern for anyone but themselves and lack of sympathy. But I'm taking a wild guess that the NY Times didn't cover that angle?
“at the request of Karen charges will not be pressed against them.”
Aren’t death threats, etc., crimes againt the state? I don’t believe a D.A. needs to have a victim’s “OK” to prosecute.
