As I wrote yesterday, the media loves being lied to by Barack Obama. As we all know, the furor over a sitting President caught telling 38 falsehoods in his self-penned biography would be unquenchable were we talking about a president with an R after his name. Not to mention the lies Obama told the media about his relationship with Bill Ayers and his membership in the socialist New Party.
But as you'll see in the clip below, Obama biographer David Maraniss, who found no less than 38 falsehoods in Obama's bio, is determined to downplay Obama's lying:

“Dreams From My Father” is a well-written memoir, IMO. It reveals much about Obama that, in retrospect, he would have been wise to keep hidden.
We typically allow writers and artists to “invent” themselves. But such people usually make terrible politicians - Vaclav Havel excepted. Adolph Hitler and Saddam Hussein (wrote several novels) are more typical.
Secondly, Ayers wrote the thing, and there is evidence Obama didn't even proof it. Ayers doesn't care if something is true or not, only if it “feels honest”.
Actually, Mr. Maraniss, an esteemed journalist and author such as yourself would know that a memoir is actually supposed to be autobiographical and, oh yes, true. (See definitions below from Dictionary.com.) Literature, such as a novel, is where we expect and allow the imagination to run wild. By conflating "literature" and "memoir" into one realm, Maraniss is condoning the lies and exaggerations in the Obamography by granting them some sort of literary license. That technique is right out of the Dan Rather "Fake but Accurate" playbook. It didn't work for Rather either.
Definition of memoir:
1.a record of events written by a person having intimate knowledge of them and based on personal observation.
2. Usually, memoirs.
a. an account of one's personal life and experiences; autobiography.
b. the published record of the proceedings of a group or organization, as of a learned society.
3. a biography or biographical sketch.
It’s called fiction literature!
No, it’s a docudrama memoir.
More specifically, ‘Fantasy Fiction’, of the subgenre, ‘Dark Fantasy’. Lol.
Or that new literary form where you lie to your diary -
pseudodocudrama memoir
Maraniss. Twisting self into a literal pretzel. to construct a kind of justification for the man/child Barry Soetoro’s self aggrandizement.
Yeah, lying is no big deal to liberals if you’re a liberal too. Wonder if he’d be so gracious to cut that amount of slack to a Republican president. Doubtful.
No it’s liberal hypocrisy. They give their own a pass on stuff they’d crucify their enemies on.
Consider Elizabeth Warren. Her lies are really just a colorful family history story.
