Even before the Republicans chose a presidential nominee it was widely assumed that Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla., would be at the top of anybodys list of vice presidential candidates. The reasons are obvious: Not only is he young, charismatic and wildly popular with conservatives, but he could also help Republicans win a key state (Florida) and make inroads with Hispanics.

That will never happen because:
1..They don't know.
2..Even though it's their job to know, it will never get to them as a case.
rubio was born in the USA. (Miami, Florida)
the law states he is eligible.
no court or law has ever recognized the third version of citizen.
The entire U.S. isn’t going to get much better, overall, on the majority of issues, as long as the majority of U.S. voters continue to, way too often, vote for leftists, from both major political parties, at each and every political level! Now is the time for a small government conservative to, really, become the next POTUS, but the strongest ones remaining in the ‘12 POTUS field, right now, are Virgil Goode of the Constitution Party and Tom Hoefling of America’s Party.-Both are from minor political parties, and both, probably, have no serious shot of, actually, winning, despite their true conservatism!
>> Only the insane claim Romney is not a Natural Born Citizen <<
In other words, Alan Keyes doesn’t think Romney is an NBC? Maybe so!
>> no court or law has ever recognized the third version of citizen <<
Doesn’t make any difference to the NBC folks. They think Vattel’s definition trumps not only all US statutory law, but also Blackstone, the Common Law, and the 14th Amendment. No sense in arguing with them.
I have no clue what you are talking about. Come to think of it I don’t think you have a clue, period.
Of the three the one that comes foremost into play against the Constitution’s reliance on Vattel is the 14th Amendment and even this one does not negate what the Founding Fathers intended by discourse.
No, if you feel the need to look to foreign law, and not to U.S. law, in order to define who is a U.S. citizen at birth, you don’t know what “natural-born citizen” means.
Unless, of course, you subscribe to the alternative view, whereby you simply have to be born in the U.S., or near the U.S., or some U.S.-like facility, to two parents who are some sort of citizens of somewhere, of varying age, and the birth of course is by definition "natural", so you're ok for any office, you're good to go. No problem.
Q.E.D., I think.
It’s not worth taking a regular, reliable conservative vote off the senate floor for those once in a session ties.
My reasoning is that running mates matter little in the actual election, but a governor would be critical in close votes in swing states (as Jeb Bush was in FL in 2000 and Bob Taft was in OH in 2004). They can prevent a lot of mischief. I think that role is more important than the running-mate role.
What are his qualifications to be “secretary if something”?
I am over Rubio. I heard him on Medved today discussing the dream act. Gave an example of a girl who moved to florida with her mother from columbia when the girl was 5. Never got documented. Mother left and went back to Columbia. Girl stayed. Graduated Valedictorian went on to Darmouth and got a phd in microbiology. He talked about why deport someone like that?
Well, Rubio, my question is, how did an undocumented illegal alien ever get into our educational system to begin with? How did she get into college? The girl should have gone back to columbia with her mother.
I would trade a few phd’s for 800k illegals being kicked out.
He can type.
I doubt his parents being us citizens would help because George’s parents had taken up permanent residence in Mexico. This is different from US Citizens stationed temporary do to some type of service. Military, corporate etc, or simply on vacation.
The question is when did George get nationalized. If before Mitt was born then OK. If not then he is not NBC.
George was listed in a census as a US Citizen by his father so he was probably never actually naturalized because his father always considered him an American.
“Time to pander to another minority.”
As it turns out, it was reported this morning that for the first time ever, the largest # of immigrants in 2011 were Asians. Hispanics were static.
NOT any more. CBS radio news 4 PM said Romney says no truth to this report. RUBIO IS BEING VETTED.
“I doubt his parents being us citizens would help because Georges parents had taken up permanent residence in Mexico.”
There is a formal proceedure for giving up your US citizenship and a record of it is kept by the State Department. Could you provide a link to the US law that takes away your citizenship if you live outside of the US for XX# of years without the citizen in question formally and and willfully giving up his(her) citizenship. I know of no such law and would like to know where you got that idea.
Absent giving up his citizenship at the US Consulate, George Romney’s father remained a US citizen and, per US laws, his offspring are born citizens. (Note: Not Natural Born) There was no need for George Romney to naturalize. He was a born US citizen.

Good point. But I should think that if we’re so lucky to get Walker as the GOP VP nominee, he wouldn’t need to give up his West Consin governorship until after the election. Therefore, he still should be able to restrain the Dhimmi vote fraudsters.
Alternatively, if Gov. Walker should resign pre-election, then presumably the Lt. Gov. — the very attractive Mrs. Kleefisch (sp?) — would be able to hold down the fort.
Mitt was on TV today denying the rumor (including during an interview with Sean Hannity). Supposedly only he and one aide know who is on the short list, but he said that Rubio is being vetted.
