While our presumptive nominee Mitt Romney has criticized Obama's cynical, politically-timed power grab, he has yet to say whether or not he would repeal President Obama's executive decision to no longer enforce our laws with respect to somewhere around one million Mexican illegals. Instead, first thing this morning, the Romney campaign went right back to talking about Obama's failed economy:
A number of my fellow conservatives, many of whom I admire, are hitting Romney for not taking a stand on this, but what exactly is Romney supposed to do? This entire story is, quite obviously, a coordinated trap set up by both the Obama campaign and their White House Media Palace Guards to change the subject and gum Romney up in divisive identity politics for the next ten days.
Within seconds of Obama's unilateral move (remember when the media hated those?), many of the Media Palace Guards I follow on Twitter were tweeting things like "game changer," because after having no choice but to report on Obama's very bad two weeks, they were all in agony and desperate to change the subject -- desperate for a "game changer."

I don’t know what all you Romney cheerleaders are talking about. Romney has already gotten into this. He criticized Obozo’s executive order as being a half measure, only “short term,” and endorsed Rubio’s Dream Act to bring “long term” confidence so those poor illegals know what their future is beyond the term of a President. He refused to say he would reverse Obama’s illegal executive order and parroted race pimp Rubio all the way. He doesn’t disagree with Obama at all.
So what the hell are you guys actually talking about when you keep saying it’s good for Romney to avoid answering? His answers are already clear.
You Mitt supporters are so desperate that you are projecting all your hopes and dreams on this guy, and ignoring what he has already stated will be his policy.
“He should ignore all side issues such as immigration, Obamacare etc.”
I for one hope he goes full stupid on this and tries to respond to all these “side” issues, as you call them, that way everyone knows how screwed they are as they travel towards the event horizon.
Bullchet. The Bush GOP insider hacks said the *exact* same thing.
"There will be plenty of time after the election to discuss illegals and the border, lets not go there now".
Your confusing speaking the damn truth with rhetoric. Americans want the truth, not a bunch of bullshit so another insider can be elected, who has no damn intention whatsoever of securing our lawless, country killing violent borders.
“Romney is a politician and not a statesman. “
NO!!! You’re Kidding!!! At this juncture, when he’s trying to get elected against a worthless halfbreed politician, he should be a statesman? Get Serious! He doesn’t have the luxury of being a statesman until he’s in the Oval Office. We can worry about the statesmanship after he’s kicked FUBO out of the White Hut.
I hope you are doing more than just complaining. There are a lot of VERY GOOD true conservative Republican Senate candidates who need our support. Even if they are not in your state you can provide needed support—financial if you can and/or volunteering to do such things as make telephone calls (at no cost to you). Look to see how you can make a POSITIVE contribution. We may not have gotten the Presidential nominee we may have wanted, but 2012 has the makings of a VERY GOOD YEAR particularly for those of us who are doing everything we can to help achieve a conservative led & dominated Senate. In conjunction with a conservative House we can have conservative legislation (that begins to unshackle our constrained liberties) and also help insure that defenders of the constitution are the ones who successfully are approved by the Senate.
Is the political Pollyanna speak?
I left that era years ago, after it became inordinately obvious these biggov elite lie to and con everyone repeatedly over and over, as a matter of routine. Their support are either stupid or part of the con.
Some of you haven't figured it out yet. Some may never.
BTW, I meant every word of it in 43 and 39.

Too bad Mitt doesn’t understand what needs to be done, and agrees with Obama on virtually every leftist initiative.
Exactly. For once, pleeeeeaaaase do not let the other side set the agenda and frame the terms for the debate. Let's fight this war smart. We choose the time and the battlefield, not them.
The CHOSEN LOSER, Myth RomneyCARE,
author of ObamaCARE/RomneyCARE,
ALWAYS takes the side of Obama against America.
I’m old enough I can actually remember back where Republican candidates tried to contrast themselves with Leftists.
Today our candidates try to develop an image that makes liberals think they’re just like their opponent. And then they wonder why Conservatives don’t back them.
Romney won in lib MA by playing ‘I am not as liberal as that other guy’ and he didn't run for a second term. Much like the RINO MD governor Erhlich he probably would have lost another race.
Romney will say whatever he thinks will work at any given moment. If he has values we sure don't know what they are. Dems will try their best to exploit this, Rs will circle the wagons to defend him. Romney will try to avoid taking ANY specific positions before the election as you can see now. He knows they will just get him in trouble with someone.
After a very bad experience with GWB I can not join in this game of automatically defending him, unless I agree with what he is saying of course.
WE ARE SCREWED!
You’re probably right about Romney’s run in Ma. This year he tried to run as a Conservative in the primary, but it was laughable.
For the rest of the year, I think you’re right. He’ll try not to take a specific stand on things. He’ll try to curry favor with the Right by virtue of his primary run, and curry favor with the Left by contrasting himself with Obama only on items he knows Obama has sold them out on.
Good luck with that.
To be fair the countries demographics have changed much since those days we remember, and we had GWB who did great damage. Look at massive immigration and all those new Americans saw GWB as the shining example of a Republican POTUS. The R cult won’t accept how damaging this was. They never saw Carter, they saw two term GWB.
Like sands through the etch-a-sketch, these are the days of our lives...
So are you saying he should not say it is unfair for illegals to step in front of those who have applied legally for citizenship and still waiting?
He was asked if he would reverse Obamas Executive Order.
No laws or congress involved whatsoever.
Bush was the super-market manager president. He may have made a fairly decent next door neighbor. He was not presidential material. It was embarrassing.
He was his daddy’s sock puppet. I don’t mean that his dad directed every move, but there’s no way this guy would have held the positions he did in life without his dad’s shadow hanging over him. Just being the son of the former president was probably enough.
His speaking ability was non-existent. If he didn’t sound like he had three marbles in his mouth he was providing important motivational speeches looking more like an invention of Jim Henson, than a real president.
And then there were the Leftist actions, and allowing our economic system to melt down while he play-acted being president.
Your right, fair is a liberal word. It is not “right” that illegals become citizens before those who have been seeking citizenship in the correct way.
Is right ok? I got it out of the bible.
You don’t know what you are talking about:
“Executive Order
Obama, who has long backed legislation offering young immigrants a pathway to citizenship, announced an executive order forbidding the federal government from initiating the deportation of illegal immigrants under the age of 30 who came to the U.S. before age 16; have lived in the country for at least five years; have no criminal records; and are in school, high school graduates, or military veterans. “

The Immigration Ploy
By Thomas Sowell - June 19, 2012
“President Obama’s latest political ploy — granting new “rights” out of thin air, by Executive Order, to illegal immigrants who claim that they were brought into the country when they were children — is all too typical of his short-run approach to the country’s long-run problems.
Whatever the merits or demerits of the Obama immigration policy, his Executive Order is good only as long as he remains president, which may be only a matter of months after this year’s election.”

If Romney is elected President, on his first day in office he can reverse Obama’s policy. Congress is not involved in anyway as you erroneously stated in your original post.
