While our presumptive nominee Mitt Romney has criticized Obama's cynical, politically-timed power grab, he has yet to say whether or not he would repeal President Obama's executive decision to no longer enforce our laws with respect to somewhere around one million Mexican illegals. Instead, first thing this morning, the Romney campaign went right back to talking about Obama's failed economy:
A number of my fellow conservatives, many of whom I admire, are hitting Romney for not taking a stand on this, but what exactly is Romney supposed to do? This entire story is, quite obviously, a coordinated trap set up by both the Obama campaign and their White House Media Palace Guards to change the subject and gum Romney up in divisive identity politics for the next ten days.
Within seconds of Obama's unilateral move (remember when the media hated those?), many of the Media Palace Guards I follow on Twitter were tweeting things like "game changer," because after having no choice but to report on Obama's very bad two weeks, they were all in agony and desperate to change the subject -- desperate for a "game changer."

We must thank God daily that Obama and not McCain/Palin won in ‘08.
Romney would be smart to ignore the ***holes in the state run MSM. He’s not running against them. He’s running against the Kenyan. He needs to make sure Barry’s toadies don’t take him out.
Knowing what I know now, seeing where this nation has gone from 2008 up to now, seeing China replace us as an economic power, the downgrade and the bowing to foreign leaders, abuse of Presidential powers and apologizing for America's existence I would be able to hold my nose less tightly voting for McCain/Palin if only it could be 2008 again.
We may not be able to get back what we lost. Other nations are in the race to win too.
Maybe so. But why couldn’t Romney at least attack on Constitutional, separation of powers grounds?
I’m sorry....WHAT?
The Romney campaign needs to keep this up. The key is to force Obama & his minions to play OUR game. Don’t let them set the agenda—make them react to the Republican campaign. Continue to focus on the economy, jobs and the piss-poor Obama record of non-accomplishment.
He had been all weekend. I would like to see him keep it up but also and more importantly keep talking about the economy.
Obama's executive order was to get the Latino vote but the timing was to get Thursday's bad unemployment numbers out of the news for the weekend.
I suppose the next set of bad economic numbers will be followed by an executive order to pardon everybody's mortgages or College financial Aid.
Exactly!
Exactly. Too bad so many here chomp down on blatant media bait. Gets tedious after awhile.
Instead of speaking the truth and defending the constitution he should continue to play politics.
Remember all that lip flapping around here about pushing him to the right?
Never mind.
I still wish somebody would stress what an insult it is to LEGAL immigrants to jump lawbreakers ahead of them in line.
Romney isn’t running for Congress.
As President, why/how would/could he issue an order to enforce the Law as written ? He takes an oath, as Obama did, to enforce the Laws of the USA if elected president, it would be redundant for him to say he is for the law as written. As president he swears to do exactly that.
If Romney was running for Congress he could declare what his vote might be on a theoretical bill, but he’s running for President.
Obama set a political trap. He wants Republicans to respond to his bogus dream act with anti-immigrant rhetoric, hoping we’ll lose more Hispanic support. Romney handled it correctly. Say what you want to say...how you want to say it. The press is the enemy.
Romney did the right thing because King Amabo targeted the no status immigrants that have not committed a crime entering the USA.
Romney did handle it correctly.
These immigrants cannot vote. In the short term they are irrelevant. What Romney should have done was without referring to the illegals, plant the seed they are taking American taxpayer jobs away.
Force Obama back into the dialogue about the economy.
I dunno...
I think his strategy here is pretty sound. Obama wants people talking about race, he wants them pointing fingers at each other, he wants to divide and conquer.
Romney keeps talking about the economy, which is what most Americans are concerned about, and that’s fine with me.
If and when he does enter the fray on the immigration question, he will do it his way and at a time of his choosing.
The one thing he definitely does NOT want to even SEEM to be doing is dancing to Obama’s tune.
I still don’t like him, but I admire his political instincts. Think once, twice and even three times before you open your mouth.
