I saw that back in mid-July.
I watched as google systematically 'disapeared' a half a million hits on image searches for 'Obama birth certificate' over a 3 day period.

U.S. authorities are leading the charge as governments around the world pepper Google (GOOG) with more demands to remove online content and turn over information about people using its Internet search engine, YouTube video site and other services.
Google provided a glimpse at the onslaught of government requests in a summary posted on its website late Sunday. The breakdown covers the final six months of last year. It's the fifth time that Google has released a six-month snapshot of government requests since the company engaged in a high-profile battle over online censorship with China's communist leadership in 2010.
The country-by-country capsule illustrates the pressure Google faces as it tries to obey the disparate laws in various countries while trying to uphold its commitment to free expression and protect the sanctity its more than 1 billion users' personal information.
Governments zero in on Google because its services have become staples of our digital-driven lives. Besides running the Internet's most dominant search engine, Google owns the most watched video site in YouTube, operates widely used blogging and email services and distributes Android, the top operating system on mobile phones. During the past year, Google has focused on expanding Plus, a social networking service, that boasts more than 170 million users.

The list, Ping
Let me know if you would like to be on or off the ping list
Now we know that the eye on the dollar bill was prophetic..
‘They’ truly do have their eyes on you.
This guy scares the crap out of me. I always thought he was incompetent and radically left. But Obama is proving himself to have dicktator ambitions.
I use Start Page, now. Google can kiss my @ss.
I'd be curious who was complaining of harassment, and how the accused harassment was going on, and why a police department was involved. I know Google Maps is very punctilious about pixeling out recognizable people in their Street View when asked, so if someone was invading someone else's privacy with You Tube one thinks Google would take a similar approach. If this were public figures at their public duties being videoed, that's a different matter. What happened to don't be evil?
Transparency.
“...Transparency...”
It is!
Basically what they meant was: you will be totally transparent in everything and anything you think, say or do.
It’s basically “Transparency for thee, but none for me” type of thing. The “unwashed masses” need to be controlled since they don’t know what’s good for them so we’ll decide for them.
We certainly don’t want them riled up too much so we’ll toss em a bone once in awhile.
Liberalism sucks. It’s a debilitating, chronic mental disease that forces itself onto everybody else.
LOL, where do you think that came from in the first place? If you saw someone walking down the street saying over and over again, "today I won't throw a rock through a window," would you trust that person with a rock?
Well, if that's the case, then Barry, Barack, Hussein, Soetoro, Ombama, the FASCIST, Neo-Commie, can go do an unatural act to himself.
Don't like it?
Try and silence me.
Molon Labe!
The article is short on details. How many requests were for copyright infringement? For violations of restraining orders?
Great point!

null and void to papasmurfNow, can everyone see what were up against? This IS an coordinated effort to defraud America and dis enfranchise the voters.I saw that back in mid-July.

I guess it depends on WHO is asking.
You’d think that even liberals would want an honest chronicle of the online search zeitgeist. If liberals are right (which I don’t think so, but just arguing for the sake of pointing out what would be logical), then in the future they can point back at it, and laugh mockingly at the supposed “American hysteria over Barack’s birth.” Putting it into the memory hole only bespeaks cowardice.
Dude!
Check your premises!
Seriously.
Unless... what’s being referred to here is the way that Google bubbles stuff up to the top based on popularity. So Google saw their system lending itself to American curiosity about the Birth Certificate... and of course they were horrified in their little liberal hearts to see a conservative curiosity being not just fed but piqued. So they did a custom job on it to make it stop.
If liberals really believed their point of view was superior, then they wouldn’t need lies, and would apologize for lies that had been made. They fight their own consciences.
Liberals have tamed the MSM, turned them into ‘harmless’... guess they want to do the same with the folks who still have a pair...
Nope. Total number of search results on July 12, 2008 over half a million.
Total number of search results on July 17, 2008 less than 40,000.
Most of the July 12 results were copies of the birth certificate, often with the errors highlighted.
Most of the July 17 results were birthday cakes, bowls of fruit, puppies...
