Not that it does, but that's the theory...

If Adidas would just wrap the shackles and chains in dollar bills like the welfare state does then it would be OK.

Not sure if this is a spoof, but if not there must be some seriously dumb people at Adidas.

They look like the shackles that came on My Pet Monster, a stuffed toy one of my kids had back in the early 80s.
They also might remind one of the chain gang shackles that were common during the last century in democrat party controlled areas of the old South.
Slave shackles indeed.

This seems to be great addition to the urban chic droopy prison pants with striped under wear. I’m thinking they’ve hit a money maker.

We’ve had a number of “shoe riots” here in Indianapolis where inner city youts queue up to pay hundreds of dollars (converted from their EBT money?) for various new Nike footwear.
I wonder if these will have a similar appeal?

This is simple extortion, nothing less. A corporation is accused of racism. Black “representatives” demand a payout to their group. Corporation pays money and apologizes.
Read “Shakedown” by Kenneth Timmerman. He documents case after case of this. Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton and others have made money using this technique.

—Adidas under fire / new trainer with orange ‘shackles’ like those worn by black slaves—
I think “like” is a subjective term.
Three things:
1. Why were slaves shackled to their shoes?
2. Why were they orange?
3. I didn’t know they had velcro back then, and how secure could it have been?

Well, if this product has any durability, it should at least make it easier to find the sneakers thrown over powerlines by simply looking for the owner still attached...

Doesn’t anyone remember the “brother walk” back in the late 60’s and early 70’s? Every “cool brother” walked with a hobbled leg and a hobbled wrist.
