Romney "agrees" with Rubio. Wants "long term" solution. Full statement in Comments.

I believe the status of young people who come here through no fault of their own is an important matter to be considered, and should be solved on a long term basis so they know what their future would be in this country, Romney said after a campaign stop in Milford, New Hampshire.
I think the action that the president took today makes it more difficult to reach that long term solution because an executive order is, of course, a short term matter and can be reversed by subsequent presidents, Romney said.
I would like to seek legislation that deals with this issue and I happen agree with Marco Rubio as he looked at, considered this issue, he said that this is an important matter that we have to find a long term solution, Romney said.
I don’t think the GOP needs to say much here. Those who support this are now more in favor of Obama than ever. Those opposed are now more opposed than ever. Romney saying one thing or another won’t matter. I think there will be plenty of middle America who won’t like this regardless of what Romney says or doesn’t say.

There are two people that need to go:
1) Obama 2) Boehner
I think the action that the president took today makes it more difficult to reach that long term solution because an executive order is, of course, a short term matter and can be reversed by subsequent presidents, Romney said. “
Romney doesn’t need to walk into this mine field right now. He is setting himself up should he become president for little room to maneuver.
Why the hell can’t a Republican enunciate a core belief here instead of this “me too” idiocy.
This statement just says he agrees with Obama only it won’t last long enough.
“Here is the truth. If mitt were a leader... a true leader... he would have made a statement that came from his center... his soul if you will. A Conservative knows what is right and constitutional... he knows how this action subverts our Constitution and violates our very form of governance. Sarah Palin is a leader... a true conservative Statesman... look at her response... that is the response that mitt should have given. It is not offensive nor is it divisive... it is right and proper and Constitutional. mitt’s response was tepid, calculated, progressive and political. The truth is the truth.

I agree. Romney should have called this move by Obama for what it is. Executive branch overreach which is what Obama has been doing all along. He could have nullified this whole thing if he argued from that point instead of walking into a door.
Instead of having a unified message on this, Republicans are all over the map. This should be called what it is. Obama ruling by dictatorial fiat.
It’s also an indicator of how Romney will govern should he win. I’m getting flashbacks of Dubya’s treatment of this issue. “See you at the signing”.
I agree.. move on.. after the next unemployment number comes out this story goes bye bye
I don't think it was just a coincidence that Obama came out with another "Republican War On ___" a day after the bad jobs numbers. There was the "Republican War On Women" to get the economy off the news then the "War Against Gays" and now the "Republican War On 'Immigrants'".
All day today and all weekend the news SHOULD have been talking about the rise in unemployment which was announced on thursday. Today there's NOTHING about the economy on the news.
after the next unemployment number comes out this story goes because...

At the time of his choosing, he will announce his immigration plan - not in response to the President.
Judging by Mitt's previous words, he will only give some kind of residency to the few (and known) thousand of illegals who signed up for military service, but not to anyone else.
GD politicians. So many words with no meaning.
Everybody knows that the children of Illegals didn’t have any say what so ever in coming to America. We also know that doing a blanket amnesty on any group of people via Executive Order is wrong. Just because, any President can withdraw that order.
In saying this, the Executive Branch is overstepping its bounds by intruding onto the Legislative Branch. In doing so, the Executive Branch will be sued and get the Judicial Branch involved. So what the President did was get all three Branches of the U.S. Government involved in the turmoil of immigration.
So instead of bringing the people of America together, the President again, has divided the country. The idea of keeping angry and divided, instead of all of us working together to fix the problems is working again.
The President did make a brilliant political move. Guarantee the Hispanic vote, make the Republicans look like fools and bypass Congress. But, also it will lose him votes with some independents that he ignores the rule of law. Time will tell if the President overall vote count will increase or decrease with this Executive Order.
Some people say to Impeach the President, get him out of office. But, in reality that will never happen. You just need a majority of house members to start the impeachment proceedings. Articles of Impeachment are handed over to the Senate. The Senate hears the evidence and votes. You need 2/3 of the Senators to agree to convict. As long as there are more than 34 Democratic Senators, the conviction will never happen. So the Republicans are stuck with the President doing things that he can never be successfully Impeached and convicted.
The only way to remove the President from office in reality is two ways.
(1) Vote him out of office
(2) Get 2/3 of the Senate Republican
Both of these two things can happen in the November 2012 vote. Otherwise, you are just wasting political capital, time and money.
Give them a "no fault of their own" deportation along with their parents.
The Congress shall have power ... To establish a uniform rule of naturalization.
His position in the primaries was nothing more than an insincere, dishonest narrative to remove one big impediment to the nomination just like John McCain did temporarily in 2008. Not at all surprised. He was a complete lying sack of crap on illegal immigration in the debates, and has now reverted to true RINO default position for incremental Rove/Bush43-style amnesty. We may have to resort to passive grassroots resistance like tie up ICE incessantly with bogus phone calls, submit phony amnest applications en masse and overwhelm their system so they cannot execute the illegal executive order if the RINO Stupid Party and it’s gutless, equivocating nominee won’t unflinchingly stand up to the Emperor hardcore on this issue on our and America’s behalf.
In public Mitt Romney has been on all sides of every issue in private he’s a democrat trying to convince everybody that he’s really a republican.
Yep, that's what he's been doing and that's what he should be called out for. The President's job isn't to decide which laws are going to be enforced. Why should the people accept that ridiculous behavior from their President?
I'm hoping that Romney will attack him hard on all of his unprecedented, arrogant ruling by fiat, i.e., “executive branch overreach”.
A Kenyan criminal arrogates the power of law to himself, makes himself king and declares that foreign criminals have immunity while his "Justice" department is out arresting, suing and terrorizing the citizenry?
And all Little Mittens can do is stand aside and meekly issue some watered down statement?
"Who killed John F. Kennedy?" Is the question they choose.
