WASHINGTON The Obama administration will stop deporting and begin granting work permits to younger illegal immigrants who came to the U.S. as children and have since led law-abiding lives.
The policy change, described to The Associated Press by two senior administration officials, will affect as many as 800,000 immigrants who have lived in fear of deportation. It also bypasses Congress and partially achieves the goals of the so-called DREAM Act, a long-sought but never enacted plan to establish a path toward citizenship for young people who came to the United States illegally but who have attended college or served in the military.
Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano was to announce the new policy Friday, one week before President Barack Obama plans to address the National Association of Latino Elected and Appointed Officials annual conference in Orlando, Fla. Republican presidential challenger Mitt Romney is scheduled to speak to the group on Thursday.
Under the administration plan, illegal immigrants will be immune from deportation if they were brought to the United States before they turned 16 and are younger than 30, have been in the country for at least five continuous years, have no criminal history, graduated from a U.S. high school or earned a GED, or served in the military. They also can apply for a work permit that will be good for two years with no limits on how many times it can be renewed. The officials who described the plan spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss it in advance of the official announcement.

The issue is 800k jobs that won't be going to your work age son or daughter, Mr & Mrs Legally Registered Voter.
This country is being pushed more and more to a new revolution.
Takes the wind out the sails of Rubio and Jeb.
Here’s a key quote from an AP article:
“Illegal immigrant children won’t be eligible to apply for the deportation waiver until they turn 16, but the officials said younger children won’t be deported either.”
That means no one will be deported, period, because these small children will be here with their families.
Illegal children of all ages, born in Mexico or wherever, have just become illegal anchor babies.
Makes you wonder what it will be like between November 2012 and January 2013 if Obama loses.
Lots of pardons, I imagine. Lots of executive orders. Lots of appointments. Lots of documents being shredded, hard drives being formatted and destroyed.
Unfortunately we are that frog in the boiling pot now.
This is only June — aren’t they supposed to wait until October for their, er, surprise?
“All you recent high school and college graduates out there had better realize that the size of the pool of available jobs out there has been effectively shrunk because upwards of 800,000 illegal immigrants now have been given immunity AND work permits. Deal with it. Go ahead and vote for Obama and see what happens to your J-O-B...”
Any employer that hires some illegal with a work permit for a “white collar” job should be boycotted. They will get the message.
A “revolution” OBAMA WILL NOT WIN.
This will also cost him Florida and hopefully the coattail that makes Bill Nelson history in the Senate
Q: Well, Doctor, what have we gota Republic or a Monarchy?
A: A Republic, if you can keep it.

This is the reason why we need a real American in our White House. Obama, regardless of whether he is secretly a natural born citizen and just hiding it as a distraction, or something less by birth, is at the very least oblivious to America's founding culturally traditions. The United States is not some third world country, like the ones Obama identifies with (Kenya, Indonesia, and Pakistan) where the dictator can issue decrees at will. We are supposed to be a constitutional republic with a limited government whose allowable actions are circumscribed by the enumerated powers in the written and literal Constitution of the United States of America. Obama disgusts me.
As far as amnesty is concerned, my grandparents on one side and great-great-...grandparents on the other side were immigrants, and I approve of immigration. However, I want only immigrants who come here legally. There is not and should not be a statute of limitations on illegal immigration, given that it's a crime recommitted on a daily basis by remaining here. We need to fix our immigration policies so that immigrants with useful job skills can come here legally, and those who enter without authorization will be caught, fingerprinted, returned to their home country, and permanently barred from any path to citizenship or even to re-entry.
Too bad it’s not the other end.
actually the number 800,000 is BS....you don’t expect them to leave their parents, brothers, sisters, cousins, uncles, aunts, grandparents, and illegitimate children alone in Mexico do you?
If you multiply that by 36-40...now your talking AMNESTY for all
